Bold built 2 houses for me this year in a development project of mine in Kedron. Both houses were done to an incredible standard, communication with the foreman Justin was always flawless and the initial support from the team in the office including in particular Rhiannon, as well the assistance with the colour and finishes selections was second to none. An all round pleasure to deal with from start to finish, and a big credit and congratulations to Brett & Arlia Boulton and the team for the amazing company they have created. We engaged Bold Living in April 2022 to assist us in building our architecturally-designed, custom ‘forever home’.While it’s been a long process for us so far, with plans just now (Jan 2023) being submitted for Council Approval (that’s ok….it’s a BIG house!), Bold have been absolutely second-to-none in the way they have dealt with us.Honestly, I cannot fault them and their processes so far. We have so far dealt with Alex & Joel (Sales & Drafting), Georgie & Paris (Selections & fit out) and Andrea & Shae (Contracts and Council submission). Without fail, every single person has been fantastic to interact with! They have made us feel welcome, comfortable, appreciated and totally at ease. They have all been thoroughly professional, competent and friendly.I’d like to especially mention Andrea, who we have spent the most time with tweaking, adjusting, adding, subtracting and generally messing around with the design, selections and contract. She has shown amazing patience on occasion with our requirements and has always been very professional, competent and friendly. It was quite bitter-sweet when she passed us on to the next stage in the process.Obviously I can’t comment on the construction process yet, but I have no doubt we are in excellent hands and fully expect any issues that arise (as they invariably do when building a house), will be dealt with and managed in a thoroughly professional and expedited manner.I will update this review once the build is completed.

I have just completed my pre construction phase with BOLD and they have been absolutely amazing. The responsiveness and communication has been fantastic. In a very anxious time for all that are building, they have made the process very easy. I would 100% recommend them to everyone! I will put another review post construction

I signed the agreement with Bold in late 2021 and my land was already registered and ready with finances, till now in March 2023 I just have the slab and part from the frame, as well as this, they have increased the price almost 15% from the total price, disingenuous management, an untrustworthy company.

I bought my land in September 2020 and signed my home contract in December 2020. My house still has not finished building due to covid, floods and lack of supplies. Bold originally when purchasing the home were incredibly helpful and walked me through the process. Since the build started with the block being cut in December 2021, it’s been nothing but problem after problem with no proper communication and clear responses. The site supervisor I have been assigned Rob has been rude and now won’t take my calls as he doesn’t like being questioned about things he can’t answer and doesn’t appreciate any frustration I might have when given false information and having no communication with this. I’ve been given dates and timings that haven’t been met over and over again. They’ve ordered incorrect supplies and then had to wait for supplies to be reordered. They can’t get their own bricklayer because they’ve been paying below market price. I managed to have a chat with the tiler whilst he was doing some work and he said that bold were one of the worst companies he’d ever worked for and that they were paid below cost and he wouldn’t be returning to finish my place as he’d been stuffed around by already. I was told Rob that carpenters couldn’t do work that they were booked in for because they were too busy doing display homes. I asked Rob why I hadn’t been told that they hadn’t done the work and was given a response that he doesn’t call trades every day to find out where they were and what they were doing, so he was unaware that they hadn’t done work. He said most of the time he found out through homeowners driving by and seeing that work schedule to be done hasn’t been done. Most recently I was told my bricklayer would be on site and after a week of no shows and zero communication I called Rob to question what was happening and I was told that he’d run into the bricklayer that morning and that he wouldn’t be completing any more work for bold with no explanation. It’s now august and I still have no expected date of completion and no answers. I would never recommend bold living to anyone, this has been the worst and most stressful experience.

My husband and I built through Bold in 2019. The admin and sales staff in the showroom were exceptional and very helpful this side off the build I would definitely give 5 stars!! However the rest of the process was terrible and still dealing with issues arising. Considering we were charged so much for the build you would expect to have good quality products installed. We have had so many plumbing issues and now after only 2 years 11 months we have to replace our gas hotwater system. Looking at the reviews on the installers page( they are a poor quality product) I'm a big believer of you get what you pay for however if you build through Bold you will be pay top $$ but will receive an inferior product.

We are building our custom design house with BOLD Living. We are so happy with their considerate approach, professional high quality service and friendly nature. I believe BOLD have a great product & are generally a good company to use to build ... BUT... our personal experience in a custom development was met with a general lack of engagement & responsiveness, often resulting in 2-3 months between updates even after checking in. The customer -> portal -> customer service agent -> design team -> drafting team workflows don't seem ideal for a custom build unless you don't ask questions.Knowing what we know, we would use Bold again - however only because we now know how to optimise their process - which should have been explained to us, not us having to figure it out.I would have given 2 stars, but the day we cancelled the build we mentioned we might even sell the land we were so frustrated, the very next day we get a call (one of the first proactive calls from Bold) from a sales manager asking if they could advertise a house for sale using our block.Long story short - ensure the customer support & original sales agent are highly involved in the concept design & don't convince you to move to the next stage where its still ok to make changes"
