Lee's Golden Yuen Chinese Restaurant
Lee's Golden Yuen Chinese RestaurantI don’t like writing negative reviews, but in the interest of the public, reluctantly have to expose this Restaurant. Last Tuesdays night I was rather famished. And felt like a Chinese meal. I called Lee's Golden Yuen Chinese Restaurant in Rozelle. I ordered for 1 Mongolian Beef and a Combination Sea Food with vegetables.I arrived at the premises about 20 minutes and paid and proceeded home. I sat down and opened the 2 containers. The first thing I noticed the container size, it was tiny, thinking this is pretty miserable. First container I opened was the Mongolian beef or what it was purported to be. On opening a vile stench steamed out and filled the room with a smell that made me gag and my cat and my wife ran away. After opening all the windows, I examined this festering gruel further and there were three very thin pieces of beef, at least it resembled beef, so thin you could have rolled a cigarette with it. The rest of the dish was broiled sliced onions in a brown watery sauce, not bad for $20.00.00. It was disgusting and it looked like it was already digested. It was dispensed to the outside bin. I am game. I cautiously open the alleged “Sea Food Combination” It too was in the slim container but rather bloated. I peeled one corner and slowly the corner “Popped” with quite a loud wheezing sound, which lasted for around 4 or 5 seconds A really tart smell emerged from the container. My wife and cat were nowhere to be seen; it resembled something that should be in a regurgitation receptacle. At the distance I was at now I could make out that the container was again full of sliced onions and a similar sauce to the brown malodorous so called Mongolian Beef. The $23.00.00 seafood combination was far short of a combination, comprising of 2 royal red prawns sliced 6 times down the middle to represent 12 paper thin prawns, one small scallop that looked like a purifying caramel butter and one thinly shaven baby corn. Oh those broiled sliced onions. I took a deep breath and closed the container and proceeded to take that foul rancid Petri dish to the outside bin hoping not to get caught by the EPA. Avoid this this horrible place there is nothing Golden there.

Haven't had chinese in a while so ordered our favourite Sate Chicken. Disappointed - about 70% onion 30% chicken! Should be the other way around. Small boiled rice on the expensive side - $5.

A succulent Chinese meal.Fried rice is always excellent and sweet and sour is indeed both sweet and sour. Not fancy, but friendly, fast and welcoming.

This is my go to for Chinese for delivery. It's definitely great quality at an affordable price. Only the best restaurants last on darling st and it's been a staple in the Balmain/Rozelle for a very long time. I especially recommend the chow mein and they do a pretty mean satay also. A+++

We ordered chicken chow mein .. terrible … the chicken and vegetables were boiled until they had turned to mush. Chicken looked like flat noodles. No more , can’t believe this place has repeat customers .

Ordered takeaway from here and It was good!!! The prawn toast was crispy melt in your mouth amazing, the sweet and sour pork was crispy with plenty of sauce, chicken chao main was tasty. The special fried rice was ok but could have been better which is always the case at every Chinese restaurant for me. Overall I will absolutely be ordering here again and highly recommend them for good Chinese cuisine. Well done!

Worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. The honey chicken tasted like it was cooked yesterday and reheated in the microwave. Fried rice has a strange taste and the long soup was inedible.
