Jamala Wildlife Lodge

We purchased the Grand Shark Suite deal from Luxury Escapes and we were suitably impressed with the decor and amenities of the suite.The staff, at all levels, were very friendly and so willing to please.We were scheduled to leave early the next day due to flight commitments and would have missed out on feeding the hyenas - once staff knew about it they juggled the itinerary and ‘No’ those beautiful gentle hyenas were nothing like as what has been portrayed in those WD movies.There is so much to see and we appreciated our guided tour.The antics of the animals held our attention.Our only disappointment was that our beautiful suite had no viewing windows and if we travelled there again we would elect to stay in the cheetah room (or similar)There was plenty to eat and a full variety of drinks.Thank you Jamala Lodge- a memorable experience in more ways than one

Love love love everything about this place the minute we stepped into reception we felt welcomed & relaxed the whole experience for us was so magnificent. The staff are sensational nothing was ever to much trouble we felt like we were the only ones there, the rooms, food & the zoo were are just amazing. The animals are so well looked after, this place is so special. We spent 2 nights 2 full days and loved every minute. Please treat yourself this is a very special place to experience.

We absolutely loved our visit. From the moment you arrive you are warmly welcomed.This feeling continues throughout the stay with the knowledgeable staff going above and beyond in answering any questions about the animals.Highly recommended and very kid friendly.

This was our second stay and it’s beyond amazing hence why we came back.The staff, the food, the accommodation and the beautiful animals are worth every cent. Our first visit we slept with the sun bears and our most recent stay was with the lions. This truly is just one of those WOW moments. We will be back

The guided tours were very informative and fun, and while we stayed in the giraffe rooms we fed the resident giraffes from our balcony. It was an amazing experience. The afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast were amazing, and in between dinner the children got a tour of the aquarium. Overall our stay was a once in a lifetime experience, and definitely worth the money. I definitely recommend going there. We will come back one day!

The passion of the staff whether they are in customer service, food and beverage or zoo keepers makes this place outstanding! They go out of their way to ensure your experience is something you will never forget.

We were return guests, so we were already converted, but had high expectations this time.... which were met and more! Everything from our booking experience, reception on arrival, the tours and the encounters, our room and dining experience, and the lodge and Zoo staff we interacted with, was just about perfect. Nothing was too hard or inconvenient for the lodge staff; the guides and keepers were informative, patient and helpful, and clearly passionate about the animals and the Zoo; and the other support staff we chatted with expressed real joy to work here. We've been to most of the major zoos in Australia over the years, and we think NZA is head and shoulders above others. A unique experience..... thank you!

It was one of the best experiences of my life. The lodge, staff, and whole experience was 5+ stars! Feeding the giraffes was such a highlight but sitting and watching them from our own balcony, fantastic. Skye was waiting outside our balcony to say good morning. The food and dinner in the cave with the white lions was just unbelievable! Walking through the zoo before day visitors arrive was indescribable! Loved all the tours and catered to kids as well as adults. Thank you so very much!

5 stars for Jamala & NationalZoo. Thoroughly loved our stay. Staff are all excellent & tour guides very informative. Food is exceptional. Bungalow with Ravi the Tiger is such a special experience. Accommodation is absolutely lovely with African decor. Wish we had booked an encounter tour for the next day. Zoo is shady and easy to walk.

Amazing experience!We stayed with Tiger sisters this time.Wonderful room, great food and friendly staff. We forgot to ask the name of one staff, her passion and warm-hearted services really impressed us, appreciate it!It is so nice to see a place that make every effort to take care of animals well.
