The Provincial Bed & Breakfast
My partner and I stayed here for two nights in summer, unfortunately we didn't enjoy the stay much at all. I did not feel like a welcome guest during this stay.Edit - the owner's response suggests there are some discrepancies with the cheap bread and condition of the bed, there are photos attached, take a look and decide for yourself! On arrival there were 100s of flies around the back porch, summer in the country I can maybe let this one slide. There are flies, there was an empty can of fly spray in the kitchen so I bought one and sprayed and they were gone for the whole stay.As you do when you go in to a holiday home, the first thing I did was check out all the rooms, provisions etc. Disappointed in the breakfast provisions as follows for two people, two nights:1 coffee pod4 pieces frozen bread (the $1 a loaf kind)2 packs of kid's cereal1 large clump of stale instant coffeeSo we also had to buy some suitable breakfast provisions for two adults for two nights. The kitchen was relatively well equipped but had no tea towels and wasn't particularly clean. The coffee pod machine smelled absolutely revolting, there's a milk carafe/frother which smelled like rotten milk.Cleanliness overall not great, there were cobwebs around the house, the shelving was filthy and dusty with a dirty razor blade left by another guest, dirt and dust on the skirting and there was a piece of glass on the kitchen floor. Finally there's the comfort of the bedrooms. I'd never slept in a broken bed before this night, the bed was missing half of its slats so there was a significant slump in areas of the bed as the slats would slide around... as well as the iron bar which supports the slats around the foot end of the bed were broken. Finally the location, while not really something you can control it does have bearing on the overall value of the stay. There is not much in Milaton, there's a nice bakery around the corner as well as a Foodland which you will almost definitely need to visit to make up for lacking provisions. There's not really much in the way of dining options in the area but Minlaton is particularly sparse. The highlight of Minlaton itself is certainly the brewery. The place has a lot of potential, but for the asking price I would expect a lot more...The missing ingredients in this are love and care, it would not take too much more effort to make a significant impact.

Fantastic central location 10 minute drive to the beach both east and west. 1 hour drive to the National park. Neat clean quality linen on beds. Adequate breakfast provided with a well equipped kitchen. I will recommend this property to my friends and family.
