The base had a very interesting museum.The staff were very knowledgeable and had lots of interesting facts to share with the tour group.A surprise at the end of the tour.A must see in Charleville

This was a great find. We went on the morning tour of the base. Sam, our guide, was very friendly and informative. We really enjoyed it. The new interactive museum was also very interesting!

So interesting and our guide was terrific. It is a guided drive in your own car stopping at places of interest around the site of the old base with a real WOW at the end of the tour. They are discovering more about the base all the time. Highly recommended.

This was a surprise to visit in the outback and with a lot of information. Both our Dads we're in the pacific war. Mine a Queenslander my husbands Dad an American Merchant Navy. Everyone even the locals must do the tour of duty at WWII Secret Base Charleville.

Absolute eye opener... was a little hard to find the secret base.... not! And worth the stop over. Allow about an hour for the tour. It is very well done and interesting. Make sure you read the stories.

Awesome experience. We did both the museum and the tag along tour. Our guide for the tag a long was Luke who was very informative. Knew his material and was quite entertaining.

WWII Secret Base & Tour
This tour was one of the best parts of our 5 day trip around central Queensland. The tour operator (sorry forgot his name) was very impressive with his knowledge, enthusiasm and communication. Wouldn’t have been the same without him. We went on a day of moderate rain and confirm that it is still short able for low clearance / 2WD vehicles. The secret base is great too. All well worth the price and a great experience for all.

WWII Secret Base & Tour
We had a great morning tour with Lily (in fact we were honoured to be her first ever guests). She told great stories along the way and we got a real sense of what life was like for the GIs stationed in Charleville during WWII. We had fun guessing what the secret could be. My 12yo son rated this tour as the highlight of our outback Australia trip so far! Definitely recommend.
