Really disappointing when a young P Plater and his sister can come in and say that he had been in a car accident the day before and the mechanic we had go over the car had said to take the car to the smash repairers as something in the back end was bent - and then not have the repairers take us seriously - which we have learnt since could have seriously endangered not only my brothers life, but others on the road too.The guy that came out to inspect the car put his head under it, got up and told us nothing was wrong. He then rocked the car and told us that if there was something wrong he would be able to hear it. He told us we would just need two new tyres and a wheel alignment and the car would be fine - I specifically said to the guy, this is my little brothers life, can you tell me it’s safe? He said he wouldn’t put it in writing but he couldn’t see any reason that it wouldn’t be safe. I thankfully then made the call that I would take my brothers car directly from the smash repairers to the tyre place we use. The boys put it up on the hoist, walked out and told me it wasn’t looking good and how did I get the car to them. The car is in fact not safe to drive. The right hand side strut at the back is completely bent and needs to be replaced. Both back tyres are completely stuffed. When you drive the car, the back tyres move from side to side, so if something goes wrong, we have 0 control of the car. They even went to the effort of physically showing me the difference between the left and right hand side and explaining the issues with me.When we got back to a family members house and were able to speak to Mum and explain to her what happened, she decided to ring these guys and try and explain that maybe when a young person comes in they take the enquiry more seriously and properly check the car. The owner informed Mum that the photos he had in front of him indicated nothing was wrong (neither my brother or I remember the guy taking photos) and that for them to put the car on the hoist and go over it properly, we would have to bring it back once it had received a wheel alignment and something was deemed to still be wrong with the car - I can tell you right now, the wheel alignment is the least of our concerns at this point.The car now can’t be driven until it’s fixed, which isn’t an issue, but extremely disappointing that these guys don’t take car safety seriously. We won’t be back.

I was on a road trip for my 50th and backed my car along a rock in a carpark, probably under the influence after a balloon ride, and my insurance suggested Cessnock Smash Repairs. They helped me get the car on the road, so I could go all the way to Byron Bay where I had already booked accommodation, and finalised repairs on my way down.When I got the car back, if was washed and vacuumed as well. I am very happy with their understanding of my personal situation and their great service. Thanks!

Phone Recovery - I had dropped my mobile phone into a narrow space between cab and tray on my ute and called in on the off-chance they could help. Owner and one of the boys spent the next 30 mins in a very difficult but successful retrieval of my phone. They refused any payment for this service. I have also used their normal repair services in the past and they did an excellent job. I highly recommend this business for their integrity, professionalism, and customer service. David
