Genie Reid (reviewer) are you related to Rhiannon Reid?? why is my review being taken down*********** After all the publicity regarding aged care facilities at the moment, I feel compelled to write my review. My father was a resident of Cabrini for over 12 months. Initially when we were looking for a place for our father, I dealt with Rhiannon, who told me she was a relative of the owners of Cabrini. At first I thought my father was getting the best of care. He had end stage dementia and was in the secure unit. I received a phone call from Cabrini approximately 6 months after he arrived, to advise me that as my father was not at risk of absconding, they were moving him to the general part of the facility to admit a patient who needed to be in there more than him. He was in an isolated room by himself. On several occasions when we went to visit him, we had to get him help in going to the toilet. His mobility was very limited. One night last May, I received a phone call from Cabrini at 11.00pm to tell me that my father was not well and they were transferring him to hospital. They didn't seem too concerned. We had requested that they take him to a private hospital. I was getting ready to go to the hospital to meet him when I received a phone call from the paramedic advising me that my father was too ill to take him to a private hospital, and they would have to take him to a pubic hospital where they had the facilities to treat him. They also told me to gather our immediate family as he was gravely ill. My father was transported to hospital where we were told by the staff in the emergency department that he was septic and wouldn't survive. His mouth was covered in open ulcers that had been untreated. This was the first we had been told about how gravely ill he was. He passed away two days later. On further investigation, his name wasn't advised correctly by Cabrini to the hospital. They had passed on the wrong details to the hospital. We were never advised that he was that ill, that he had septicaemia. He must have been so sick, and as he was non verbal would not have been able to tell anyone. When I tried to contact Rhiannon for further clarification, I was told that she no longer worked at Cabrini! I have since found out that she never left! Obviously she didn't think it necessary to deal with our family anymore Cabrini, only take patients who have the over 350K plus ongoing costs to be admitted, but the communication ends when the patient passes away. Please do your research when you are choosing a care facility for your loved ones.

Management= 0 service= 0 caring= 0 support=0 instead in 15 months no doctor visit or check-up rudeness - disappearing stuff in the room....Worst ever.

Had my mum in for 3 weeks respiteLovely room, clean and comfortable.Trouble with the tv set, she didn't receive her breakfast 1 morning as they forgot and then said sorry but they have none left to give her.I filled out all the paper work given to me, and made mention that she couldn't have full cream milk only skim milk as it upsets her bowels,This was ignored and she was given full milk, even when she asked for weak black tea, she was given tea with milk.Why bother if nobody reads the information given.. in the paper workMy mum was left uncovered in bed 1 night and no one answered the buzzer, so she was cold, which resulted in her getting sick.I realize their are many others to attend to, but what if she was having a heart attack, or fallen over,Who would be responsible for a life lost, if there was no response from staff?Perhaps they should consider having more staff employed.When I picked my mum up, she was weak and unwell.I took her in happy and well, not expecting to bring her home in that condition.To be fair, there were a couple of caring staff and 1 person from admin.Very disappointed on the whol
