Such a nice spot for a short walk. There’s definitely a lot of effort into making this place clean and easy to walk around. The views are gorgeous and the water is clean.

All 3 bridges have been removed due to damage from the fires 12mths ago. There is no baracades or anything, it is totally unsafe for children currently and there is no way of walking around the lake anymoreGues what?! Just found out funding has been received to replace bridges! Great news!

Good little place for a walk or a picnic. I have also seen a few people fishing here for trout. There are benches and some exercise equipment within the park.UPDATE:since the 2019 fires, the bridges have been rebuilt, and the lake restocked with rainbow trout. Great little spot to take the kids

Lake Pillans Wetlands
I came across the wetlands by accident as I was at the adjacent Blast Furnace ruins. As a new bird spotting enthusiast I enjoyed seeing the surprisingly diverse bird life. I found it fascinating that the wetlands was originally part of the blast furnace complex and in its past life was a place where locals would swim despite the industrial waste that existed at the time.

Beautiful park with a small lake type ponds. Many flowering plants make up an spectacular scenery for the patrons. Picnic tables are available as well as a well maintained walking track to walk around the park and watch the birds roaming around.

Long grass. Snakes lots of maccas and kfc rubbish. P platers doing burnouts in the car park. Broken glass. My kids and i spent hald an hour picking up a bit of it so they could kick a ball around.

A nice relaxing area to walk around and have a picnic lunch. Also the Blast Furnace ruins are a great reminder of Lithgow's industrial past.

nice quiet little spot google maps didn't quite get us there don't turn on Henderson St go a little further and turn right just before railway bridge it has a sign for the wetlands there cheers
