Muswellbrook Hospital

This hospital is AMAZING! I have lived allover Australia and never received the care I was lucky to get here. The nurses, doctors and all staff are just brilliant. Thank you so much for the outstanding treatment.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. IF YOU NEED PROPER MEDICAL ATTENTION DRIVE TO RPA ONLY 3 HOURS TO SYDNEY, THE HEALTH SYSTEM INTHE COUNTRY IS SHOCKING!! Rpa is bonza!! THE GOVERNMENT NEED TO TO GET THIS matter resolved asap!!!!

Disgraceful, my son did the right thing, went to work sick with an infection that got worse during the day, his face swelled and he couldn't see out if one eye, made him sit in the waiting room, asking people who had turned up later to go in and see the doctor. Because has a tradie with a swollen face, they just left him until he left.obvioulsy didn't believe him and so he left and drove 2 hrs back to Newcastle to try and see a doctor down there.

Terrible grumpy slow service... The nurse on triage reception was unhappy to see me & obviously thought my situation didn't warrant visiting. She complained that she has to get a doctor's approval before administering the prescribed injection I have with me. I'm sick with Vertigo & constant nausea & urgently need my regular B12 injection. I asked the chemist for a needle so I could self-administer. They wouldn't allow it & sent me to the hospital. I'd tried everything else. I can't get in to see my doctor or any other doctors at their practice for 3 wks, or their practice nurse as the position is currently vacant. I tried another doctors practice. Same deal & they don't have a practice nurse on on weekends. The nausea gets so bad & is constant, so I have NO option but to be here. Service & availability of doctors & nurses in Regional Areas is absolutely disgraceful. It's not made any better by hospital staff that don't want you there either.

After spending 6 hours in emergency the day I broke my wrist then another 9 hours five days later when I went back to have it checked, I am totally disillusioned with the NSW health system! This is not a reflection on the staff who attended me as they were dealing with a lot of people who were much sicker than I -there just didn’t seem to be enough staff for the volume of people who needed attention! Then today I received a notification from Maitland Hospital about attending an apt with the orthopaedic surgeon in 10 days time! I’m not allowed to drive and I have no family or friends locally to take me as I’m from interstate! I rang the hospital to see if they have a transport service I could utilise! I spoke to a really rude nurse who just said”No” and then hung up! So not only can I not access the services I need locally, there is no infrastructure in place to allow people in my situation to access specialist elsewhere! You cannot get a GP apt in under 3 weeks and in the 9 months I’ve lived in the Hunter Valley, I have had 3 different GPs come and go! I thought the health services in Bourke were limited but in comparison to the Upper Hunter, they were excellent! A bit sad really!

A huge thank you to the amazing drs and nurses for taking such great care of my little girl. ❤️

From the ambulance paras to the treatment at the hospital, I couldn't have asked for more. I take my hat off to them. Keep up the great work.

Ussually have a good experience here but th8s morning myself and my daughter were sick a nurse was so rude and full of opinions abought being vaccinated. U worry abought what u put in your body and I'll do the same there was no need for redness and to make me feel horribal. My 6 year old was very hesitant after that no need for rudeness. Thank God we had a lovley dr who brightend up our day.

Thank you so very VERY much to the AMAZING Staff, Nurse's and Doctor's of Mussy Hospital for the BRILLIANT care given to my Mother! Each team of Nurse's provided ABSOLUTE exemplary care which I am eternally grateful for!I would also like to thank you ALL for the care given to my Daddio when he passed away from pancreatic cancer and for letting me stay with him through his final hours right up until he slipped through the veil!

I cannot praise Muswellbrook District Hospital highly enough. The attention I received during my stay was truly brilliant. Dr Swamy who saw me in ER and then transferred me to a ward for further testing, he is amazing, what a true caring professional. Just a beautiful human being. I can't speak highly enough about him. To the nurse's who most of the time were run off their feet, they still made the time to make sure I was comfortable during my stay. A special shout out to Roxy, Meagan and Lily thank you girls. Thank you so much again!
