It's a nice spot to sit around the back at the barbecue area ok for a walk if you're an able body person but if you're on a walking frame it's a bit harder

Very sad area (has been for years) regardless of drought etc. Big undercover BBQ area OK, toilets are about 200mtrs from BBQ (didn't use). Plenty of parking and shade. No playground etc. As with most amalgamated councils the attention is given to CBD.

Native Botanical Gardens is obviously local council speak for run-of-the-mill bushland typical for Bendigo area but also includes sheltered BBQ area (east end of Camp Street) with seating for over 20 people & public toilets (Station Street entrance) 200 metres from picnic/BBQ area. About half an acre of well kept grassland in the same part of these Gardens". A dog park is located on the east side of the railway line on the corner of Allingham & Chapel Street. It is accessible from the main part of the "Gardens" by following a pedestrian pathway south then beside a creek under a railway bridge. This east side of the rail line also has a children's playground. This is on Allingham street near the Muir Street corner. Depending on what sign you read this area of bush is variously call "Kangaroo Flat Native & Botanical Gardens" or "Kangaroo Flat Native Botanical Gardens" or simply "Kangaroo Flat Native Botanic Gardens". I guess one of the above is probably correct. Anyway at this time of year (early December) there are hundreds of Monarch butterflies in the tree areas. Strangely the Harcourt Oak Forest (often referred to as the "Magic Oak Forest") 30 minutes drive away at the foot of Mount Alexander has thousands of Monarch butterflies

This park is not at the Botanical Gardens. We walked following google maps, were told we had reached our destination. No park just garden. After much dismay we finally found locals to ask for directions.... The park is actually situated on the other side of the train tracks away from the botanical gardens signage with no amenities on what seemed like a busy road.

It's okay but it's starting to really show it's age. It really needs a redevelopment to bring life back into it

Walk here everyday. It is good for a walk with the kids and dogs, but by no means is maintained for the amount of people that use it. Would be great If council could fund it a bit more and make it something that it easily could be.

What garden? No flowers and such, looked like an average picnic place. There was a nice little pond with ducks and geese, and an undercover area... But that is still a park thing, not a botanical gardens thing. We were very disappointed, as we had hoped it would be like the Bendigo Botanical Gardens.

It has a shelter built by the mens shed with 2 tables and 2 bbqs. A tiny little 'creek' (Bendigo isnt famed for its excessive rainfall) and a stagnant pond with a few nice ducks and cormorants. Suprisingly a lot of nice flowers. Has a small dirt track around which is longish. Also toilets. Calling it a Botanic gardens is a bit rich though.
