Wyperfeld National Park
A very different kind of bush/forest than southern Vic, but very thought-provoking in terms of different landscapes and the effects of bushfire on flora and fauna.

I came here on a Friday arv and stayed till Sunday morning, did all 4 of the main walking trails and didn't see or hear another soul. Only saw a few cars driving through. Lovely, peaceful place of which I was very fond. Trails are very well signposted and maintained, with plenty of placards with information on native flora and fauna. Would love to return one day during spring.

Really fascinating place for camping, bushwalking and bird watching. Mallee eucalypts, river red gums, black box, dry lakes & creeks. Main camp ground is spacious, good facilities. Very few people there when we visited on the Anzac Day long weekend. We had beautiful blue skies in the day, clear sky at night with brilliant view of stars.

Glorious in winter; if you like solitude this is the place to be!The Discovery Walking Track offers an easy sampling of the parks delights. However do take care when opening the information boxes, many also host a resident huntsman!

We enjoyed a short hike through the Wyperfeld National Park. Very nice and quiet area and nature, but I think the best time is spring when everything is in blossom.

A great quiet spot to camp, could of just been quiet when we were there. Drop toilets only and your able to have a fire in the designated fire pits, don't bother bringing or buying any wood as there is so much dead branches lying around you will have a fire for days, maybe just a small axe to make your life easier. The only issue with this place is was actually quiet axe sive for 2 people to camp and the same price if we went to a caravan park with flushing toilets and showers, I understand the funds go towards maintaining the park however I was a little shocked in the cost.Good location to set up camp for a few days to explore the area as there is so much walking and 4wd if this is your interest. All the wildlife aswell, we saw kangaroos, emu, snakes, hawks, and so many of local birds. Great spot and we will be back

Lovely Mallee Park. Stayed at Wonga Campground. Very nice covered bbq area with lots of seating. Excellent composting toilets and fireplaces provided. Excellent marked walking trails. Great for stargazing at night.

It's never been busy when we've been there, the odd camper or day visitor so most of the time it is wonderfully peaceful. A great picnic spot with some great walks, you will usually see some wildlife, be it emus, kangaroos, eagles or other birdlife. At Wonga Campground there are some magnificent gum trees but don't camp or park under them as the branches can break off. There is a bbq in the shelter and quite a few seats, so larger groups could use this area.
