Mount Buffalo National Park
Astonishingly beautiful mountain, the view from the horn is breathtaking. A great sunset spot to watch the sun setting beyond the rolling hills. The road is a windy journey, be on the lookout for wildlife if travelling in darkness or late/early sun. A few stops on the way up for various lookouts and beauty spots make Buffalo a great day trip from Bright. Be sure to take your own food and water, there's no amenities and once you're up, the only way down is the same road.

Breathtaking views (when there’s no cloud), lots of different trails quite well indicated. The Bush heritage walk is very easy, takes max 40min, with amazing lookouts. Also did the Mount Dunn walk. Got lots of snow there and couldn’t see anything up there but I’m sure the view must be great when there’s enough visibility. Tough climb up the top. The road to the Horn is only reachable fo cars 4wd or cars with chains (even the paved road before the start of the Cathedral walk), so couldn’t get there. Plenty to do and see for a couple of days.

Mount Buffalo is one of my favourite places in Australia. Yes, I have seen a little bit of it, and I stand by my statement.I think that Mount Buffalo is too underrated and could be used so much more. I have memories or going here during winter and tobogganing to each year enjoying the many many walks and waterfalls that are spotted around the mountain.I find it a shame that the chalet is not meeting its potential and is laying dormant. She is a jewel on the crown of Mount Buffalo. There are many great walks for all ages to enjoy. There is Lake Cantani, where you can camp by booking online. There are toilets along the way, mainly on the bottom at the entrance, the cathedral, the chalet, and the horn. It's a road used by both cars and cyclists, so do be wary of the cyclist.Mount Buffalo has a diverse landscape and flora, going from bush to tall trees carpeted on the ground with ferns, giving it that tropical look to the snow gums above that are short and stocky. There is so much scarring from the 2001 fires that ravage Mount Buffalo and that scarring is visible for miles on a clear day from many of the walks, especially the horn. This is a park that has been enjoyed many people for decades. There is planned investments and infrastructure that the government is going to do, so it will have a greater future for people to love and enjoy the park even more.So pack a picnic, swimmers, hiking boots, drink bottles and hats, and spend a day enjoying an awesome place with friends, lovers, and families.

A great view of the mountain range. You can see people doing extreme sports if you are lucky. The mountain range is magnificent and majestic.

We did the gorge heritage walk. This is a pretty short walk at 2.5km, estimating about 1h to complete. Pretty flat and easy most of the way with some steps to climb. Few lookout points along the way with views of the waterfall. Only 1 lookout point was harder to access. Plenty of parking space at the trail entrance and toilets available.

It's lovely up on this mountain. Great walking tracks all well maintained and a good variety of both short, longer, easier and harder.Love the addition of the coffee van in the chalet car park, was great to get a coffee sit on a rock and enjoy the view in the morning sun .Sad to see the Chalet still not open after all these years, such a great old building
