I love the diversity of trails available for all types of hikers. Syd's trail is beautifully cured and accessible for people with limited walking capability (think bad knees). Not ideal for wheelchairs due to tiny channels occassionally running over the trail. Might be nice to add some seating arrangements along this specific trail. The other trails include more difference in height and requires climbing and descending. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear.

Picnic/barbecue area was lovely and easy for everyone. Toilets are good. Some lovely walks and a couple tracks that are challenging depending on your circumstances.

Lovely surroundings with lots of parking and a camping ground that is available during specific seasons. There are various trails here that you can choose to walk and our favourite is the Kingfisher Trail (see pics). This trail starts flat but progresses to several climbs but the view at the top is rewarding. You might also be lucky enough to catch sight of the train. Please note park gates close at 5pm. A lovely place for a family gathering. The Pilgrim Trail also runs through parts of the park and can bring you to either Bells Rapids or up north to the Avon Valley.

If you’re trying to get to Echidna Trail - Google is whack! The actual trailhead starts at the Walyunga Pool car park. Turn off Great Northern Highway onto Walyunga Road until you reach the park entrance. $15 entry per vehicle, gate closes at 5pm and run by volunteers so be kind and on time. Beautiful 3-4 hour loop with wildflowers, rolling rapids, picnic benches for a snack break and an intense 1 hour uphill climb that is no joke.

It's lovely, peaceful and beautiful views next to River. Well signed tracks with plenty of options available. Entry fees apply but it has toilet and picnic areas which is nice. We didn't have any reception while in the park. Nice and quiet to enjoy the hike and being in nature.

Great national park. Toilet block, shady area under the trees, bbqs, and bitumen road and carpark are some amenities of this park. You do need to pay for entry, but it is covered under a National Parks pass. We used a pass, so I'm unsure how much the entry was.We walked along the Kangaroo trail - 4km suggested 2 hours. Rated as grade 2 but more like 2-3, it has some hills and there is a bit of sand to walk through. I thoroughly enjoyed the sounds of the birds as we walked along the path. We went right to commence and the river is a pretty view to take in as you meander along the first part of the walk. As you begin your ascent up the hill the river goes out of view, however this view is exchanged for a vista of the picturesque rolling hills. My pictures don't do it justice. Would have been 5 stars, but for the (what I perceive as) mislabelled grading level.Definitely give it a go!

Echidna track is quite hard, with lots of hills. Not sure if the view worth the effort. If you adventure yourself, ensure to have a minimum of 2l of water. There is little phone signal around the track, but it is easy to follow the signs and the track in wide and well maintained.

Great hikes and usually not busy - love going in winter when the river is flowing. Toilets and BBQs at both carparks.
