Cherry Lake Park
It's a giant man made lake that has a good walking track around it. A couple of really good views, but some of it is really ruined by the industrial backdrops.

Great place to walk on a nice day. When it is very windy this is probably the last place you want to go because the water is very choppy and it's so cold here, there is no view on a bad weather day here. They have a massive public car parking for everybody and there is a great BBQ facilities and public toilet as well. There is a children's playground. Great place for the family to go to. Just make sure if you plan to have a picnic on the grass area there's quite a lot of Duck pop everywhere.

This is a small treasure of a park in Altona. There's a massive lake with a track up walk/run/cycle around it.There's also a picnic area near the car park with a playarea for kids of all ages.

Cherry Lake Park
Beautiful small little park. Lake is huge. Two unisex flushable toilets.Playground on site.We didn't go right around this lake, but by the entry, a few people were fishing, sonwe dropped lines here. I see this lake has a few carps. We didn't catch any, as we didn't stay more than 15 minutes.

This lake was man made as a flood retarding basin in the early to mid 60's, a flood took place in January 1963 which affected the community of altona, as a result construction of the present day lake took place. It was formerly a swamp, which had then become a speedway in the 50's, many races were held here...The lake is named after William Cherry, an early pioneer who had arrived on the 30th of November 1841 with his relatives and lived in the area of altona...It is a beautiful, picturesque place, with a playground for the kids, BBQ's installed at certain areas around the lake, which i found to be clean, and two public toliets...I jog around its perimeter quite often, it is a very freeing, liberating experience.

Cherry Lake Park
Home to many birds and other wildlife, I personally found the walking circuit around the lake to be just the right distance about 3.7km. Would be nice to see pelicans from up close but i could not find the right path to approach them from up close.

30-45min walk around the lake. 3 different outdoor workout areas, 2 public toilets and 2 parking areas.

Beautiful place for recreation: to walk, to play, to exercise, to make bbq, or just sit on the bank in silence.

Cherry Lake Park
Cherry Lake is a fantastic destination for a picnic. The playground for kids is great, and the location right next to the lake is a real highlight. The large open area is perfect for playing games and enjoying the great outdoors, and the walking trail and barbecue area are also excellent. The only negative is that the overall maintenance of the area could be improved, as it was not as clean as it could have been. Despite this, I would definitely recommend Cherry Lake as a fantastic place for a picnic and a day out in nature.

Cherry Lake Park
Beautiful park, well maintained.Gorgeous setting near the lake.(Only the public toilets aren't great. Better maintenance, particularly when the markets are on. Need better water pressure for flushing.)
