Greenvale Reservoir Park
The grandkids loved the play area. However it was a bit hard to find and the playground could have done with a do up. I was disappointed that i could not see the reservoir. Overall a good place for those who like less manicured areas. I will visit again.

Main gate was closed and whole entire reserve was fenced off.Check the website Park Victoria under change of conditions of Greenvale Reservoir Park.Park Victoria website stated:The Southern section of Greenvale Reservoir Park, access off Somerton Road remains closed to the public following significant dam wall upgrade works. There is no scheduled reopen date at this time. The Northern Section of Greenvale Reservoir Park is open to pedestrian traffic 24 hours per day, access is from Venezia Promenade Greenvale

This place is closed and has been for 4 years, never to be open again what a shame. It has reopened as of Feb 2022, entry is through a gate situated at Venezia promenade in Providence estate.

Greenvale Reservoir Park
It is a very sad place to visit I don't know how I can even rated it. A very long time ago this place was somewhere to go with the family and have a beautiful picnic but I have to say the way they've restructured this place now it doesn't look like a park

Nice spot close to the road with a small dam, parkland and bbqs. Don't bother going further up the road unless you're keen to be away from people, full stop. It's dry and scrubby back there and you're blocked from viewing the actual reservoir, so there's not much to recommend it. Stay by the initial parkland where it's green and quite lovely.

The Greenvale Reservoir has been keeping me and my family hydrated and hygienic for decades. The water is very clean, and is treated with just the right amount of chemicals that you don't notice the taste, but you know it's doing you good. The first time I came here was with a school excursion back in the mid 1980s. I can honestly say that things have barely changed. I remember the gate was locked and the bus driver swore under his breath when he realised he had to reverse the bus and go to the next exit. On a recent trip down memory lane, I popped into the park for a little wander and wouldn't you know it? As if to tickle my nostalgia gland, those silly old gates were again locked. You know what they say, the more things change, the more they stay the same.Ok that's all, i'm off to have a lovely refreshing glass of water!

Went for a drive on Monday to check out the park. It is full of birds and the lake full of ducks – a lovely place for a walk. I was the first person there, until some bloke in a 4-wheel drive drove in and just sat in his car. I strolled off, past the grotty toilet block, to see the ducks and then turned back to explore the other parts of the park. As I walked by the car park again, a couple more 4-wheel drives with blokes sitting in them had pulled in. The other track goes to the BBQ areas and is lined with trees full of birds tweeting their little hearts out. It is a zen place to bring the kids for a run around. On my return there was now a ute with a bloke sitting in it. A quick Google search for “Greenvale Reservoir Park” + “dangers” or “drug dealers” or “gays”, hints that the area is a popular cruising spot at lunchtime. It is probably quite safe to go there, especially since I am an old lady, but I have to say it quite put me off my picnic. I went there to commune with nature, but this was more nature than I am up for. I recommend you only visit the park on weekends when it is busier.
