We saw a real life Echidna, found the sandstone caves and played on the beach.

Simply amazing place, I would say almost a very good local kept secret it is a busy place with lots parking anywhere and everywhere along the road edge but no tourist hot spot .If you can find a park it is certainly worth the effort the water hear is beautiful and clear and set into the rocky cliffs which you can do a 90 minuet return walk along .The walk itself has some steps and medium gradient slopes but definitely easy enough for most .The views from the trail are very nice and should give you some very nice photos along the way as I collected for my public travel page .

Beautiful. Really pleasant walks along the cliffs. No safety rails so tread carefully.

Finds along the track between Coningam Beach and Legacy Beach. A White's Skink (Liopholis whitii) and the Flying Duck Orchid (Caleana major).

While Coningham Nature area is a great example of what Tasmania has to offer. Great walks and great beaches. It features a great little sandy beach. At the far end of the beach there are toilets and a really fantastic clifftop walk that my wife and I do regularly. (If you want a more private beach, there is another beautiful beach about 20mins slow walk around the clifftop path)Don't forget to take some bathers as both are great beach to swim from and is quite sheltered (and no big clumps of weeds or jellyfish!).The main beach which is near the car-park is popular with families with young children. (Even in peak holiday season on a day with perfect weather it doesn't get too busy.)There is plenty of holiday accommodation in the area most of which is a very short walk to the beach and it would make a good, inexpensive place for a family get away. Alternatively, I have never had any trouble driving from the city and parking!(Note: Beaches are not routinely monitored by a life guard)

There are quite extensive walks and bike treks here. The main" outer circuit is approximately 9kms. Steep in parts but with water views as well of mt Wellington. There is mobile coverage here so any gps or walking apps works here. Recommended to bring water and snacks as the walk might take longer than expected. There are multiple starting places and also connects the the popular Conningham Cliff walk. Look for the cave along the Cliff walk. It is a nice surprise."

You won't find anything stunningly breathtaking, but there are myriad tracks that wander around the hills and end up down on the coast track. There are unmarked bike tracks that are suitable for hiking and the beach at Legacy is a nice spot for a picnic.
