Absolutely beautiful national park and a rewarding climb up Strzelecki. Pretty strenuous climb, but within reason, especially if you've climbed other Tasmanian mountains. Also nice and quiet on a normal day, although you will want to ensure that you've filled in your details before walking.

Beautifull place amazing history and scenery. Even tho a name change is needed to give tribute to the hardships endured by the Tasmanian Aboriginals. And more cultural heritage protection sites.... Aussie shame on you...

The Mt Strzelecki summit (the highest peak on Flinders Island at 756m) is reached by a steep and well-marked track to the top. It offers great views, although it's often shrouded by cloud/mist even when the rest of the island is clear. It's considered best to go early morning, and allow some time at the top as the clouds often clear for a while.Trousers Point, on the coast, has a picnic ground and a much easier walk along the coast, with great view of Mt Strzelecki in the background.

If you're not scared of a hill then you can knock the walking time down from 5 hours to 4. This way you can use the extra hour enjoying the views.

Gorgeous views. Not so good to climb if you have dodgy knees or are unfit... Take a walking stick. Also needs more visible hiking markers to direct you to the summit.

Great hike. Require medium fitness. But places to rest along the way. Spectacular views.

Great walk with fantastic views of the whole island. Interesting geology, flora and fauna. A little hard on the knees-alot of up and then alot of down! The track doesnt vary too much.
