No pedestrian crossing anywhere. If you park in the unmarked lot of land opposite the school, along orr st, you have to navigate across road with no pedestrian crossings. Not only is this a hazard but the West Coast council should be working towards safer road for the elderly, children and the broader community.

Sadly I've experienced negligence and shocking misdiagnosis (leading to father being put on palliative care unnecessarily) at this hospital multiple times now in regards to my father and my husband.

I presented myself to the Queenstown District hospital, late Saturday arvo after a Mtn biking mishap at Zeehan. Fantastic staff, a special “thank you” to Phillip ! (Coffee &sandwiches ), also Deirdre for stitching me up, all these people are stretched to the limit, so thanks again! Cheers Chris McFadzean

Great little all hrs A&E. Kind and compassionate nurses, as one would hope for.Great service from the two i spoke with. The stars reduce specifically to the so called 'service' of the on duty doctor when I went. Broke a tooth on Friday afternoon, thought must had exposed nerve or something as found it impossible to eat. No chance of seeing dentist till following wk, so went to A & E, in hope of pain relief. Phoned ahead, and after arriving same nurse who offered friendly service on phone came to see me in to a room to be attended to. Took readings and asked all the relevant questions, and said doc would be in shortly. When doctor entered hed obviously been briefed and said had done some research of where I could get emergency dental the following wk, asked where the issue was in mouth. Told him again what had happened, and what I thought may have been causing the pain. He had a quick look with torch, ( from his phone), proceeded to tell me their was nothing in the space of where my tooth had broken, but that it had fallen out". That their could be no reason for pain

It's a great place with good and kind staff, though due to lack of funding they can't treat cases they wish they could without having to put patients under more stress by transporting them up the coast. Not to say it's a bad hospital it's one of the best around but they need more funding to save more lives in their own town. The hospital is clean and well maintained and sealed properly unlike others in major cities around Tasmania. My dad is currently in here with cancer being looked after until he eventually passes on... To be honest I wouldn't want him to be anywhere else... He refused treatment due to his cancer being too far spread across his body and he gets to pass on in the place he was born in 1945, Queenstown Tasmania.I will admit some of the transferred doctors here could try at least a little bit to not be so pig headed and arrogant. But like I said they are transferred doctors and you can't stop the bad apples getting a job here every now and then. But above all this hospital is one I'd definitely recommend to a friend or family member who has minor conditions that are easily treatable.
