Blackburn Gardens

Wow, 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I almost missed this secluded garden on my walk from Rushcutters Bay to Rose Bay, but I’m glad I stopped by. It’s a beautiful, enclosed, multi-tiered (Italian style?) garden with a mix of Mediterranean and more tropical plantings. Although it’s right next to the main road, it feels like a world away. Once you walk into the garden, there’s a sense of tranquility and peace that’s hard to explain. It’s made up of a few different areas, each with its own design and aesthetic, and you really don’t know what to expect when you enter into a different section.There’s an entrance ramp off the main road, which makes it wheelchair accessible, and the gardens descend to a path that leads to Murray Rose Pool (also worth checking out) and a cafe.One recommendation would be to have more benches, as this is definitely a place I can see myself bringing a book to read or just sitting and relaxing.Highly recommend! I would even go so far as to say this is a place you should travel to see in and of itself, even if you’re not in the neighborhood.

A stunningly beautiful and elegant heritage garden in Double Bay. It's small but really worth exploring for its spectacular scenery and views of Sydney harbour area. Easily accessible from Double Bay wharf or public transport via New South Head Road. Limited parking so better off not driving here. There's public lavatories, benches and tables and easily accessible to Murray Rose Pool and Seven Shillings beach. It is wheelchair accessible with accessible lavatory at the council chamber building nearby. A slice of tranquility in the heart of Sydney. Suitable for all ages. No dogs allowed.

Oasis of peace and quiet. Traditional colonial English garden, a little neglected by Woollahra Council, and occasional inappropriate additions. But nice to sit, and remember how things once were, and the role of formal English colonial gardens in the making of a British stamp in the empire.

Small secluded garden. Easy access with busses as well. The entrance to Murray Rose Pool.

That have not maintained Blackburn gardens, it was a lot more colourful with many colourful plants

Beautiful location, beautiful views. The garden is lovely even just for a day out!

This is an outstanding public park. A great place to come and relax. From what I witnessed omg he day that I visited, the park can be hired for events like weddings. Plenty of Sydney history dotted around the park. Toilets are located at the road end of the park. Plenty of seating here.

Very nice but very overcrowded. Originally the gardens were nice. Earlier today we walked through the gardens. Nithing but filth finish and messy. They gardens were a very nice but these days it's pretty bad. I isollll

This a cute little reserve for a picnic under the shade. There are clean toilets but no working water fountain. Redleaf beach and the pontoons are fun for children but the water is silty and opaque - not too dissimilar to swimming in a muddy dam.
