How lucky I’m to be in the city surrounded by water and forest. Nice place to short walking trip.

Beautiful spot so close to the city. Used for millenia by Aborigines and still holds sacred to them today. Definitely worth a visit.

Pleasant walk through a headland looking up the harbour towards the Harbour Bridge. Easy trails. Plenty of seating and areas to sit. Toilets available. Seems like a hangout for the Australian Water Dragon. They’re everywhere.

Easily accessible with a decent 5-7 mins walk from Waverton train station. The NYE fireworks was a spectacular view from this place though just as any other place, you need to come early to reserve the spot. We haven’t been here during the day but definitely would be a good view during the day too.Good gardens nearby for an easy stroll.

A great free spot to see the NYE fireworks! The area isn't popular but gets busy around 6 pm. Some come early in the morning with their picnic rug so you might not get a clear view of the bridge. Bathrooms and drinking water are available. There are limited parking spots available close to the view point but the access roads will be closed in the afternoon. There is no light in the area so make sure to bring a lantern or flashlight.

What a great little getaway this is.. right in suburbia! Lovely walk along the cliff edge. Great for kids and adults alike as there is lots of educational information on the site and how it used to be a central hub for coal distribution globally. The view of the harbour is breathtaking! You can also bring your pooch which we loved. Two fantastic cafes nearby for pre or post snack/lunch (Grumpy Baker, Waterview). Plenty of parking too on the road nearby or actually in the reserve with 2 carparks. Highly recommend

Went for a nice run along the shore and found this small park, it was quiet and a perfect place to run and observe the downtown Sydney skyline. There were numerous trails and large flat rocky areas with unobstructed views. Very little vehicular traffic made it very friendly to runners, hikers and cyclists.
