John Hunter Hospital

John Hunter Hospital has been absolutely outstanding during our visit this last week. We saw and spoke to many different nurses, ALL of which were so incredibly patient, caring and understanding. They accommodated to all of my partner’s needs while he was in recovery, and went to great lengths to ensure that upon discharge, we would have everything we needed. If it weren’t for those beautiful nurses, I don’t know where we’d be right now.And of course, to the wonderful doctors, surgeons, and care takers that played a part in my partner’s surgery and recovery.. Thank you all for the amazing work you do, every day. The world needs more people like the one’s you’ll find in John Hunter Hospital.I hope we don’t have to return, for obvious reasons, but will know if and when we ever do, that we’ll be in the best hands ❤️Thank you everyone from the John Hunter Hospital ❤️

Outpatient services are a joke. After sitting in the waiting room for 30 min we then sat in the treatment room for over 45 min waiting for a doctor to see us. Racked up my parking bill that’s for sure

Went in on Tuesday to get prepared for my induction Wednesday morning, and I've received nothing but the best and most professional service and experience from both MADU ward and K2 ward.The amazing midwives, nurse's ensured I received the best care and ensured I had everything I needed and needed to know to be discharged.Can't wait for my next birthing experience at JHH.Thank you again Lady's

The doctors and nurses were fantastic at the after hours GP! But good luck trying to get in..! I was told to come back and get my wound cleaned but the young natzi nurses on the booking line seem to think they are doctors and able to judge over the phone if your case is worthy of making the list! Call yourself a 'carer'! Stick to your screens and let the REAL nurses do their jobs - pretender.

Waited 6hours only to have a nurse kick us out cause she had 12 hours shift 4days in a row. Please fire her so she can have a day off instead of yelling at patients 8.30pm 26th June 2022. Emergency Department. This is was absolutely traumatic.when you made an oath to be a nurse, you did so to do no harm not take your frustrations out on patients and scare them out. Then I was called “entitled” for standing up for myself because she was tired and that was her excuse for yelling at the patients. Went to the mater and their nurse was warm and empathetic, probably just as tired but that didn’t stop her from being welcoming and warm towards her patients.

Ridiculous! Yesterday 9 hour wait for intravenous antibiotics for 60+ year old with cellulitis. Finally got a bed after 11 pm. Sent home and cellulitis worsened. Returned and waited 6+ hours Fast Track with 10 people in waiting room. Staff rude, rough and uncaring. Where is the doctor? Still got cannula inserted 6 hours later no antibiotics!!

Nurses are great! Patient care has a lot to be worked on. Doctor forgot to book my ultrasound while I was waiting 4 days in hospital for one that I was told was booked. No one to do patients washing while they are in hospital and have no family around them and aren’t from here. Asked to see a social worker 5 x times and still waiting. Disgraceful is an understatement.

Just another long waiting government hospital. Nothing special about it. Feels like parking department and hospital department are linked. More wait time increases more parking fees for both departments.

My daughter spent 6 days in the head trauma ward after being life flighted there. Excellent round the clock care that saved her life! The head nurse on the trauma ward is honest, methodical, and puts patients lives first & foremost.Despite a hard 6 days in the ward she received the best care in the world. Also the lounge downstairs is a nice area to eat in & relax as it’s a central hub design.The flower shop did a excellent job!!
