Belmont Hospital

I recently spent three days at Belmont Hospital and I found all the staff to be excellent. From admission to surgery, recovery, and time spent on the ward I felt well cared for and secure. I do think the health system that they have to work with needs some fixing, but everyone I encountered was professional, courteous, and caring.

Despite waiting 6 hours in A&E the treatment I received after I was called was world class in every way from communication to medical attention. The Dr even stayed 2 hours after his shift ended as he wanted to see my initial investigations through.Note to those waiting in A&E: If you have to wait for a long time to be seen it’s because they are providing quality care to those inside, you will receive the same so be patient!

Ridiculous broken rist been over 7hr still haven't been see. Women in front of me been hear same time crying for the first 4 hr thay have still not seen her either gave me something for pain at 6 it's now 130 and I'm sitting on a 9 out of ten and thay won't give me any think els this place is 3 world treatment

My daughter was presenting exactly as she has when had previous been septic and despite telling them this and her presenting with 39 temp that won't break she still wasn't a priority and was left waiting for ages. Ended up leaving to take her else where. In all honesty do not waste your time going here. Not my first poor experience either. Sent my partner home 17 weeks pregnant miscarrying instead of doing a d and c or organizing for her to jhh if they weren't capable and she a very serious infection from retained products. Poor form honestly. Don't blame them they're under staffed and under paid and this is the bloody government cutting corners and not funding hospitals properly with the resources or staff.

Got my wisdom teeth taken out 3 days ago and I’ve gotten no information to contact the correct people with any questions, I’ve called the hospital to be treated rudely for wanting to find out who to contact because my face is drooping and I don’t think that’s supposed to bloody happen and I’m terrified :) rude staff after such a nice experience with one of the nurses. Appalled .

Normally I wouldn't write a review. But I believe this calls for one.I was having a hard time breathing so I finally built up the courage to go in to emergency. I was waiting for 10 hours... 10 HOURS even though my breathing was/is scaring me to no end. I had to chase up my own care, to be told it's just anxiety and for them to hand me a lifeline" number ? Ill leave it at that. Never again. Go to JHH please."

I want to thank all the staff at Belmont hospital from the time I arrived till I was picked up at the end of the day I found all staff from nurses doctors and general staff to be so friendly caring and so professional not one sour or rude staff memberThankyou Belmont hospital best hospital in NewcastlePaul Zenini

My recent experience in the ED, arrived 8am to have an existing condition investigated. Less than 1 hour wait time. Staff were very kind and courteous. Can't fault the treatment I received.

We’ll just had a very very rude phone call from Belmont hospital staff member..don’t know where they employ these people but they need to teach them some telephone techniques before speaking to people…I’m going to be speaking to Belmont hospital and putting in a complaint I think on how rude this lady was as there is no need for this rudeness…
