Do not follow this GPS route to Mount Archer as it is wrong and it leads you to nowhere. If you want to get to the lookout, then follow Sleipner Lookout or what just says Mt Archer and that will take you upto the lookout. If your GPS tells you to turn into New Zealand Gully Road that means you are on the wrong route so make a U turn immediately! The first picture is not what you want to see. The second picture and onwards is what you want to see to get to the lookout.

Be careful with Google directions, put the street name in, not the national park name. Great facilities and awesome new raised walking track to the north behind toilets. Coffee on weekends. Good play ground for the kids with a slide/swing and a bunch of things to balance on.Currently doing road works and expanding the viewing platform so expect some construction on the way up and there.

The views were beautiful. You don't realise how spread out Rockhampton is until you see it from up there.

Great spot to visit while you are in Rockhampton. Steep walk or drive and beautiful views from the walkway at the top.

Between Rockhampton and the Central Queensland Coast is the Berserker Range, the highest peak of which is protected by this national park.Mount Archer is 604 metres, affording marvellous views from its peak over the surrounding ranges and back to Rockhampton. This can be reached via two easy trails from the main picnic area.In the wider park are 4250 hectares of mostly eucalypt forest, with a big pocket of dry rainforest along Moores Creek’s deep valley.Come to the valley early in the morning or late in the day and you stand a good chance of seeing rock-wallabies hopping to the creek to drink.

Don’t follow Google maps! Takes you to the other side of the mountain then along narrow roads, dirt roads then a goat track. There was a sign tacked to a tree “No through Road, Google maps wrong, turn around and leave”.

Easy walk around a board walk to see stunning views down to Rockhampton. If you are a sunset lover definitely worth going to see a spectacular sunset. Plenty of parking and easy walk to the board walk and amenities. BBQ and shelters provided. There is also a kids play area and plenty of seating to sit and soak up the views.

Gorgeous views and lookouts all up the mountain. The new areas are amazing. Walking tracks, riding tracks, picnic areas, BBQs, mountain boardwalk. Love it.
