Hervey Bay Botanic Gardens, the Chinese gardens section is so stunning! Beautiful little gardens definitely worth a look and great place to have a picnic. There is a pond there full of heaps of turtles which the kids will love!“Jonique Life”Follow our journey around Australia on Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok and YouTube as we highlight wonderful experiences and magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list.

These gardens are so much more than I expected. Wonderful shaded walking tracks through mixed forest and open spaces. Its a wonderfully quiet and tranquil place but very close to shops and amenities which makes it a great place to picnic or just sit and chill for a moment in your busy day.

Sad to say that I found the visit somewhat underwhelming. A major attraction seems to be the orchid house and on a sunny Saturday morning in Winter (grey nomad tourist season) it was closed. There are some interesting vistas and structures, plenty of birdlife, tortoises in the pond to amuse the kiddies. Some signage on the layout and length of the walking tracks would be nice however, and an occasional reference map to place your current location within the garden. Certainly a relaxing place to sit or picnic and some electric barbecues and shade structures are provided.

Beautiful place to go see . Lots of beautiful flowers, plants. Get yourself so idea of how you want to set out your garden to look amazing. There is a little shop there with stuff to see . And to get a cuppa or coffee ☕️ or a soft drink. Highly recommend to drop in and take a look

Very pretty gardens. I took a star off as we couldn't find the orchid house, and we looked and looked. We are local. Signposting isn't very good to find it. We ended up on some dirt bush track, and it was further than 200 metres and figured there would be a proper path to orchids. My partner went to the bathroom and they weren't very clean.

Visit Hervey Bay often, first time visiting the Botanical Gardens. Enjoyed the Orchid House and Gardens, lovely and cool, very easy walking tracks. We enjoyed spotting the turtles in the water area. No cost, would be great for a picnic or BBQ out of the harsh sun

Shady beautiful areas to escape the heat. The Japanese garden is full of lovely vistas and the orchid house has many plants in flower.
