Fitzroy Island National Park
A nice 45 minute ferry ride from Cairns. The friendliest staff and a very relaxed island to just relax. You can literally snorkel with Turtle's straight of the beach. And the summit walk is awesome. And don't forget to book a tour at the turtle Rehabilitation centre.

It was very upsetting to see boats just anchoring in the live reef ignoring all boundaries and destroying it, i dont see it's going to survive more than 10 years, island is beautiful otherwise.

My absolute go to" place when I feel I need some peace. Pristine seas and beaches. The sound of the waves hitting the shore is magical as it's coral and sounds like tinkling bells. Absolutely stunning scenery and blissful respite."

Fitzroy Island National Park
Great island to be explored and close to cairns. It takes you about 50 min to get over by speed boat. You can snorkel and hike and the island has quite of a variety of Flora and fauna. Walk up to the light house is very steep and slippery when wet.

Fitzroy Island National Park is rugged with diverse landscapes featuring granite outcrops, open woodlands, rainforest, mangroves and coral beaches.This island national park, close to Cairns on the mainland, and its surrounding waters form part of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area.Fitzroy Island, named by Lieutenant James Cook, has an interesting history as a quarantine station for the Palmer River Goldfields in the late 1800s, and later as part of an Aboriginal mission growing fruit and vegetables.

Beautiful piece of paradise. They way the island beach faces the north sun, whilst the island shelters the beach from the southerlies, is just perfect. A1 snorkeling over amazing corals and fish species. Turtles cruising by in the bay.

Wonderful place for day trip. Beautiful 45 minute ferry ride to island. Great for snorkelling if your lucky you will see sea turtles. Few good walks to do The secret garden, the Light house and Muddy beach.

Fitzroy Island National Park
We booked a day trip to Fitzroy Island through the Fitzroy Island resort as there is more ferry times and options than the tourist day trips operators. We had a great day exploring Nudey Beach, snorkelling the massive walls of coral having luck at Foxys and just absorbing the pure beauty of the island. Absolutely worth the day trip !! We saw a whale and her calf on the way back and the ferry slowed so we could see them and not disturb them, it was an amazing experience and wonderful end to our day.

Beautiful island which I’ve spent a bit of timefilming on. Snorkelling is great, the coral restoration work they do with the coral trees is essential and important work as well as the turtle rescue. A must visit when you’re in the Cairns area
