Hervey Bay Hospital

I presented at the Base Hospital this morning with a suspected broken foot. From the Triage nurse, the admission lady, the X-ray lady, through to Dr Aijah and the wardie/plasterer the service they all provided was exceptional. From when I hobbled in to when I was wheeled out it was a total of two hours which I thought was fabulous. A huge THANK YOU to all involved. Keep up the awesome work everyone.

Every time I call to be transferred to a ward It takes at least 30 mins multiple times to get through. Today was refused to be spoken to about the health of my relative although I’m NOK - nurse was so rude ! I am a nurse myself and always disgusted by the behaviour of this hospital! What an embarrassment !! Work on yourself Hervey Bay

I have found the doctors and other members of the team of people who have been caring and looking after my mother exceptional. They have been very thorough in everything, research, procedures and care.However the phone system stinks. No one answers at reception or if they do answer and put you through no one is there to answer on the ward and if they do answer on the ward no one can answer in the room. This has been the hardest to deal with. Some more staff in this department would go a long way.

Yesterday I had to take a family member to the Emergency department, the staff were amazing. The reception staff, the nurses and the doctors a big thankyou for being the kind, caring people you are. Hervey Bay should be thankful we have such professionals looking after us all. Thankyou so much.

The Nursing staff have been lovely, however the communication with medical staff allied health and family members has been devastatingly poor. lack of proper communication has caused much upset and grief and much more upset than required. Overall the lack of basic respect and care for the situation at hand wad a disgrace.

Just want to share my experience with this hospital. Had to have my gall bladder removed yesterday by the team and am home now. The care factor was of the highest quality from admission to departure. To many team members to name personally but each and everyone had my best outcome at heart. The care and genuine compassion was outstanding not only for me but my fellow patients in the recovery ward. I wish to thank each and everyone of you. You are a credit to this hospital. Kind regards. I went to the hospital 6.30am with a swollen face. The triage admin was very concerned that she rushed me through as only a handful of patients in waiting room. I was fussed over very well, as everyone did their job very well. I was advised to stay in hospital for the day with observations as they wanted to make sure I was ok. I can’t fault anyone there the nurses, the doctors and the catering staff looked after me with exceptional service. The hospital was very clean and tidy. The explanation advice give was very clear and I have a home doctor to check on me for the next two days. The service I gave 5 star is worthy of its value. I had a very pleasant experience.

I recently took my husband to the Emergency Department at Hervey Bay Hospital. The care and professionalism of the staff was wonderful and I was so grateful for the urgency with which he was treated from the moment we presented at the hospital. Thank you so much
