Reel Fish and Chips
We were there on opening, the food, flake battered fish, crumb scallops and chips were A1. Cooked in fresh oil, not greasy or tasted of other food made all crispy and full of their own taste - genuine. Beer not a large variety however Boags Draught was cold and most enjoyable. Staff all had smiles and a happy face. Cost was reasonable.

Battered Tasmanian flake is hard to beat and the portion I had here was as good as it gets- fresh, nice size, delicious batter and perfectly cooked. Complemented by the bright friendly service and delicious Tasmanian wine by the glass.Great outlook and location on the marina walk!

Worst Fish and Chips ever, I can even smell over-used oil from the fish and chips, not even fresh but frozen taste. Do yourself a favour and go to the restaurant next door. Not worth a single cent. Customer service is really bad, Owner is rude! Dissapointing. Look up the comments on 1 star, you'll see what is real.Reply to you: Yes, definitely will asked for a refund with such a disgusting owner behaviour. We were humiliated and wasn't able to eat at the restaurant, how is anyone going to pay for that? You learn your lesson, put that NO BYO on your front door. You did hand the ice yourself, isn't it?

We went to this place despite the underwhelming reviews we read and thought this couldn’t be that bad!We came at 2pm and the restaurant only have 2-3 tables occupied compared to the very busy restaurant next door.We ordered fresh oysters ($20) from the seafood menu, a small sweet potato fries $9.50 (definitely not as a side dish) and fish net ($25) but to my surprise I was told that we can’t order any fries ‘by itself’. Upon my confusion I asked why can’t I order when it’s not a side dish and even so I’m ordering main meals from the seafood menu?? Thankfully the staff was very helpful and understanding (this is the only saving grace this place have!). She checked with her colleague and the chef inside who’s then allowed us to order them in the end. FYI- this rule is not written anywhere. The food were okay and sweet potato fries were slightly burnt (I couldn’t be bothered and just ate them as we were hungry). They don’t serve table water (although i could see that they do serve alcohol) and you can only purchase what’s available in the fridge. The last and not least, I use their toilet and found no toilet paper in any of the cubicles. Asked the staff and told that it’s not their responsibility to provide and she believes that ‘next door’ should do that. When I asked, do you know if we can ask them, she then funnily handed me a roll from their stash that they kept just behind the counter. I exclaimed, “Well, aren’t they toilet rolls!!!”. I shook my head and thought this place is hilarious.

Worst fish and chips I've had in a very long time. Portions are tiny. Fish was mostly batter, calamari rings worse than the stuff out of Woolies/coles. In their defence, the prawns were ok. I've attached a photo of the $8.50 fish and chips I got at Launceston general hospital cafeteria to provide an example of what an actual reasonable fish and chip meal should look like. It also tasted a lot better. I suppose this is more of a testament to how good the chefs were at LGH. Then again, I should not be having to compare hospital food to restaurant food...You can argue most of the almost $30 for that fish and chip meal went to the 'atmosphere' and 'view' but I would not rate a few boats and views of the local park as something to brag about.

If you are looking for Fish and Chips wrapped in paper, this is not the place for you.The fish and chips here is next level. Beautiful, fresh seafood served with, now wait for it, veggies! No boring wilted salad. I had the Grilled Trevalla with Seasonal veges and a herb butter and it was next level fantastic. The fish was cooked to perfection, and the vegetables were a little bit crisp giving a nice contrast. The herb butter and a good squeeze of lemon gave all the extra punch needed for a really enjoyable dish. It is a little expensive so don't come along with hordes of kids expecting a cheap eat. They do have a kids meal. The usual choice of battered fish or you guessed it, chicken nuggets with chips, sauce and a popper for $12. Plentiful but expensive if you have a few little tikes to feed. But dare I say it, for a cheeky date lunch, you could do worse than this place. Kudos to the chef for a beautiful, well appreciated meal.

My family had been here before during the day and found the portions to be a little small, but on Saturday night we decided to hit Reels before our theatre visit. The atmosphere in Seaport in the evening was relaxed but vibrant. The food served at Reels was beautifully cooked, fresh, crisp, and the portions were large. The beer battered chips were just amazing! Reasonably priced for the size, quality, and the eat-in experience of Seaport at night. I even got to enjoy a glass of pink plonk before the show. Gourmet ice creams with an abundant flavour choice were a wonderful dessert. No shortage of ice cream! The scoops were so generous that my teenager even had to donate the end of her cone to a seagull as she couldn’t finish it. This innocuous little chippy really delivered as a thoroughly pleasant evening dining experience.

Truly crispy and chipy felt like delightful experience I had with these guys. They really know there fish and chips and most certainly there amazing batters. I would certainly recommend beer battered fish with crispy chunky chips with lemon and tartar sauce.

What's better than sitting at river side and having fish and chips with oyster and white wine? The batter are nicely prepared. Tasmanian Oysters are no doubt beautiful. Simple is the best!

I ordered the $14.50 flake and chips takeaway. Food was fresh, hot and tasty. I thought it was great value for money considering the location and large portion size. The young gentleman on the front counter was very helpful and friendly, too.
