excellent day of prospecting. great host. lots to eat. very relaxing place. excellent tutoring on how to use metal detector. we only found a small nugget of gild but that us just the fun of looking. thanks marty

Great day out with Marty. Well worth the tour. No gold for us though

Spent a whole day Gold prospecting with Marty, at his prospectors camp with a group of other people, we had an absolute ball, and yes we DID find a few gold nuggets! Marty makes everyone very welcome, and even if you aren't interested in Gold prospecting, you can still bring along your tent, camper or caravan, and enjoy a few peaceful days in the beautiful bushlands on the Kalgoorlie goldfields.

As a city dweller from Perth and fan of 'Aussie Goldhunters' I was keen to experience gold prospecting but wasn't sure what to expect for a day out in August 2021. Marty, a salt of the earth character with a quick wit and abundance of jokes, met me at the gate and made me feel immediately at ease and excited about the day ahead. After a hot brew and a camp fire debrief about the history of gold we hit the training fields to help us strike it rich. A fresh healthy lunch hit the spot before our journey to the heart of Marty's prospecting lease area for an afternoon of free range prospecting. Although it's certainly not guaranteed, I was absolutely thrilled to find my very own small piece of gold just before the day ended. I thoroughly recommend prospecting with Marty and make sure you check out the iconic Broad Arrow on your way back to Kal.

Great place to learn the art of gold prospecting. Tents with comfy beds, great toilet facilities, a warm fire amazing food and fantastic company. You can also bring your own caravan. Day tours also available.

Didnt find any gold but was a great insight in how to find it with a detector. Had great time enjoying the Sunday roast dinner and the usual campfire banter. Camp was well set up with chemical toilets and showers. Marty is very passionate about prospecting and a great mentor. Listening" is a must."

I am a pretty hard task master, eg If you have crispy duck on the menu it had better be bloody crispy when it's served (Palace Hotel Kalgoorlie).I had no idea what to expect when I booked this tour, from the outset Marty was welcoming, his attention to detail is outstanding. Important information was provided before we hit the trail ie, don't mess with snakes and if you do, don't die and here's how to avoid death.Then there were the trial lessons with the detectors.Lunch was fresh and plenty of it.Then, here we go, detecting. Fantastic lease, heaps of interesting ground including dry creek bed and old timer diggings, and, best of all, GOOOLLLDD.Both my mate (who was having a 62nd birthday) and I found a nugget.Couple of coldies at the Broad Arrow Tavern afterwards climaxed in a day that I managed to share with my wife and daughter and my two mates.Worth every penny spent and the lessons we learned might lead to bigger detecting finds. We went here as part of a gold seeking weekend. Marty made us very welcome and supplied the equipment (metal detector). My daughter, grandson and me had an excellent time that weekend.

Had a fantastic day here in August 2022. Relaxed and informative with some great story’s about the history of prospecting in WA. A wonderful set up for campers as well. People and food were great and the teaching of how to prospect was very good. After a nice lunch you are then let lose and whilst I didn’t find a nugget , 2 out of our group of 12 did so a pretty good result. I have to say the excitement of finding something that might be gold is almost as good as finding actual gold. Heartily recommended that you do this.
