The George Retirement Living

I had two weeks respite care at The George Sandringham and I cannot recommend it higher. I needed High care which required 2 carers to help me with bathing every day. They even hired a hospital bed for me and the apartment I had on the ground floor had a private courtyard which was bathed in sunlight. The food was good and the Chef asked me if I had anything allergies? I am on a Low-Sodium diet and he said he'd pour the sauces in a jug for me to decide. My meals could be in my room (it had a small kitchenette) or the dining room (white tablecloths). The staff was wonderful - there wasn't a single person I would complain about and I'm a very fussy person.

I'll never forget the complete lack of empathy these people showed a respite resident at the Sandringham facility. Because he had a fungating and malodorous wound he wasn't allowed to eat with other residents in the dining room. Every time he needed additional help he was charged++ These organisations need to understand that whilst aging is now a business" some empathy needs to exist. Likewise the businesses of aging also needs to understand that people are sick of the greed
