Osawano Japanese Gardens
A sweet little garden space set aside in a nice neat, design and layout. Hard to maintain such a themed garden in a hot and dry climate - but it's a nice spot for a visit and a stroll through the gardens. Nice shaded areas to sit and enjoy the fish and ducks roaming around.

A small but pretty Japanese themed garden. A pleasant place to pass a bit of time while waiting for a caves tour.

Osawano Japanese Gardens
Located adjacent to Wellington Caves, a Bottle House, Wood and Art shops. Entry to the garden is free. Being early spring the grounds were still very dry and only a few flowers in bloom. The look and layout is based on Japanese principles and culture with Australian flora intermingled with traditional Japanese ornaments. The water feature complete with colourful Koi fish and Wisteria covered Arbours certainly makes for a tranquil space. The grounds and shrubs are manicured however the infrastructure needs attention. Much of the timber needs repainting. Great spot to stop and refresh or to have a picnic.

Osawano Japanese Gardens
I photographed a small intimate wedding at Osawano Japanese Gardens in Wellington and thought the place was lovely.It is quite small and very well maintained and it is located right next to the Wellington Caves.The wedding I photographed had their wedding ceremony under the rotunda and then afterwards we did a few photos in the gardens.Lovely little garden for a small wedding.

Believe it or not, there is NO entry fee to these beautiful gardens. My kids loved the serenity and spent over 1.5hrs just wandering around (and it’s not that big!)
