Absolutely incredible hotel. The reception as well as food and beverage staff are second to none, everyone is so friendly and helpful. You’re right opposite the Cowboy’s League Club so if you’re into rugby you are in the perfect spot. The food at the hotel is also amazing, definitely recommend!!

Great location, it's close to everything you will need. The room was lovely, the only con is no connection to anything in the bedroom TV.Staff were super helpful and answered questions as best as they could. The bar was disappointing as there weren't many options for cocktails. Buffet breakfast was good, options for everyone. I especially enjoyed the bacon and eggs. Just wish pancakes were an option during my stay there.

A hotel reminiscent of late 1990,s in style, recently refurbished it has enabled the hotel to uphold its relevance. Rooms comfortable but not spectacular in big city sense. However this is a regional town and it’s purpose fit. Rooms clean, excellent location for downtown convenience

Location great.Views great.That's all that was great.Fridge in room didn't work and as a result l ate spoilt food which made me really sick (I advised the front desk).Constant noise from jack hammering construction on the rooftop.Construction meant that amenities were closed (pool) and balconies were locked off. None of this was communicated.Service was ok but nothing special.Rooms had stained carpet and were really dated.Probably better to focus on rooms etc before worrying about the roof.Overall disappointed.

They have renovations going on but unfortunately you're not advised of this when you book through Qantas.The windows and doors were covered in building debris from the roof and there was a sign on them saying you can't open them. It is disappointing you are not advised of this before you book. I won't return I am afraid.

8 of us had the Buffet breakfast. They accept walk ins you don't have to stay there to dine. Super friendly and helpful staff especially the lady on the front desk at resturant. If you book you can get 19$ ,specials or 25$ if you don't. Value for money could not fault anything. fresh tasty food . Huge variety. Coffee etc included. Definately recommend. Looks like good deals for accommodation too.Handy location in main street. Will be back. Thank you

1 bedroom is nice. Great staff. Breakfast buffet is great. Unfortunately after dark the area immediately in front of the hotel is a gathering place for homeless and leaving the hotel can almost guarantee you will be bothered for money. Otherwise it's in the middle of everything so that's nice.

The good old 'sugar shaker'. Located right in the middle of Townsville and an easy walk to any where. This place is pretty popular with many different kinds of travellers, including airlines staff. Rooms are small, but neat and clean. Some rooms have a great view and/or a balcony. There is room service with pretty good menu. Downstairs is a bar and restaurant. There is also a coffee shop in the front foyer. The sugar shaker is straight across the road from the Cowboys Leagues Club, where you can pick up a great meal, a few drinks, or merchandise from the best rugby league club in Australia. I will definitely stay here on my future trips to Townsville.

Rooms & food are good, loved the breakfast buffet. Shame about the very poor evening restaurant service. 20 minutes to get a drink & meal order. And then they came back to confirm. Empty table, only 4 other guests in there. Brought a carafe of water but no glass. Another 5 minutes and cutlery & glasses arrived

Location close to restaurants and convenience store. Parking can be a bit of a pain to deal with. Staff were lovely and helpful. Beds were a bit soft and the balcony a bit small and pokey. Restaurant was great with a nice selection of wines and nice value for money steak. Garlic potatoes were fantastic. Buffet breakfast well worth the money.
