The Bunyip Retreat

Really upset by my experience at Bunyip Retreat during my wedding. The website/booking.com says children welcome and full access to facilities. Upon arrival, we were interrogated for having children with us and advised to 'keep them on a leash' during our stay. After the hosts explained that we were unable to use the kitchen or fridge to store/cook our food, myself and my guests were reminded of this multiple times. It says 'private and secluded' and yet after our initial experience with the hosts, it almost felt like we were being watched and checked up on. When we expressed this we were told it was a 'community' space.. even though we had hired out the whole retreat and the community was myself and my guests. I felt extremely anxious and unwelcome, like we had been stereotyped immediately and ended up swapping my position in this retreat with family members and staying at another accommodation for the night of my wedding. If you are having a wedding, I would recommend staying elsewhere. The views and house itself is amazing but the hosts are overwhelming and controlling. We had a phenomenal experience at another nearby stay house.

I took my wife here for her surprise birthday away. It was a wonderful couples retreat with a view you need to experience. Make sure you get there before sunset. Food was delicious and hosts made us fell relaxed like we are at home. Currently has a max of 4 couples and feels like you have the place to yourself.

Lovely weekend away. Rob and Marina are fantastic hosts and the property is absolutely stunning. Suites are clean and comfy and the breakfasts and dinners on offer were delicious. Just wish it had been warm enough for a swim! Will hopefully be back soon.

Stunning outlook over the valley to the range. A sensational place to relax in absolute calm and silence. What a piece of heaven. Thank you Marina for your superb hospitality.

Tamara and James made wonderful hosts, they made us feel so welcomed and comfortable and even threw a beautiful breakfast in for free the morning we were leaving. The resort itself is stunning in every way- the nature that surrounds you how and the luxurious rooms capture those mountain vistas perfectly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

It's more impressive in real life than its promise on the website. Marina and Rob make it feel like it's your own home. The architecture works so nicely while seeming simple. The view is what the angels experience. The meals deliciously demolished. With good old mates, and fun new mates, such a lovely time. Oh, it's quiet, gloriously quiet.

we came here for a wedding. the views are stunning overlooking mt french. inside is beautiful with a nice open space and big glass doors so you can still admire the view from inside. a lovely place to catch a sunset.

Most wonderful getaway ever !!! Stunning huge property but max 4 couples only so it's private & secluded. Perched on top of the hill, its the most amazing views to wake up to in the morning ..and to relax as the sunsets too (byo for the best sundowners !!) . Then add truly outstanding breakfasts & dinners daily, personally cooked & served by wonderful owners Marina & Rob...and luxurious furnishings throughout, it really is a recipe for a perfect getaway.

A gorgeous retreat. Always love staying here. The food is amazing, we have never had a less than fabulous meal. Grass tennis courts, beautiful townhouse style apartments and stunning views. Better for couples.
