Our daughter started seeing a Changing Tides Speech Pathologist in 2018, she support our daughter in Prompt Speech Therapy to assist in sounding out letters. Our daughter is non verbal which is due to her genetic condition called SATB2 Associated Syndrome. However her therapist did not let that get in the way of making every effort to assist her in using her vocal capacity to communicate. Susie quickly built a loving report with our daughter to ensure maximum gains in her therapy approach and goals.Susie also supported our daughter within feeding therapy using VitalStim. This was an amazing tool and proved success in awareness surrounding the mouth. Our daughter was also learning basic Key Word Sign whilst getting therapy assistance with her AAC devise. Susie’s approach was holistic, because we want our child to communicate no matter how! She is open to trying new things, she is kind and gentle and caring. We also had Shauna support Naomi with her therapy needs, although this was during COVID, it didn’t dampen our sessions via Telehealth!
