Laanecoorie River Reserve

As a recreational reserve, campers can get close to the rivers edge, to feel its energy or to lower a fishing line in, with your comforts beside you. The toilet block is close by along with walking tracks right along it all the way to the weir wall and lookout. When looking for shops and pubs with food, a travel time can be anywhere from just 10 minutes to around 45 minutes for much larger regional shopping needs being easily found. There's a large cross section of young and old in Laanecoorie, all of whom too enjoy the quieter aspects of country living, respect of the land, its people, their way of living, being highly valued, greatly sought after as more so appreciated by every local and visitor alike.

Very popular camp spot, fits about 18 or so vans,right on the Loddon River,afew vans had to leave as park was full. Site has grassed picnic area, toilets, water, fishing, people tend to stay a while. Definitely be back.

Ground is fairly uneven and tight spaces for larger vans. Overall I didn’t feel very safe here. Toilets for the mens is completely outside (no roof) so the state of the urinal and space is disgusting. Can’t go wrong with a free spot but it just wasn’t a very inviting campground. Ground is also dirt and clay.

Maybe on a weekday but very crowded .. packed in. Music , generators etc. didn’t stay went to Hamilton’s Crossing only 20 mins away. Great sites. River a bit low but small number of campers in a lovely spot with shade, mown grass, fire pits and great fishing

Fantastic place. The camping area isn't very big but the price is incredibly cheap. There is a toilet block. There are some camping spots facing the river. No problem getting a caravan in, with a larger caravan (22 foot plus) there are places just back from the river. Boat ramp was upgraded 2019 & is very good. Only access for 1 boat at a time but that isn't an issue. There is also a caravan park (Laancoorie Lakeside Caravan Park) if the reserver is full, also very reasonable prices. You can't go to far in either direction with a boat but still plenty of fishing opportunity.

Not bad, section for tent only which was nice and grassy. Tables and toilets. Didn't catch any fish tho

Spent 8 days camping here. A lovely quiet spot by the river. Other campers were very friendly and courteous. There were a couple of vehicles that stayed for a night then took off. Close to Maryborough if you need any extra supplies. My wife and I recommend this spot if you like peace and quiet.
