Solartronics Gate Controllers

I'm bewildered this company is still in business. From the beginning communication was poor. I was issued with installation paperwork for gate post / fence clearance and rang the office for clarification, dimensions were confirmed and adhered to. Once posts installed, found dimensions given were wrong and by pure luck we had enough room. I mean millimeters. That was the good part! Having the installer call me to discuss points of clarification proved a headache and very little interest. Once install was finally complete, the control arm had been fixed to aluminium slat and not structural component, that pulled slat through resulting in bent slat and gates currently U/S. Spoke to Alan in office who is well past customer relations. (hung up on.) He argued that it had been 7 months and it was on me. The only reason it had been 7 months it due to Solartonics not responding to any emails in that time. I have been pursing this issue all this time and didnt want to resort to a neg review. He also stated the installer advised me to have a structural piece put in. Conversation never took place and why would he proceed with install knowing they would fail. Overall a terrible experience. Alan needs to be off the phone dealing with customers.

Brilliant service! The unit had worked perfect for eight years until an idiot visitor to my property opened the gate and for some reason waited, When he did drive forward, the gate was closing and his tandem trailer destroyed the gate. Not much damage to the unit as it seems well engineered. Sent it off to be repaired and with a quick turn around and excellent service, my gate work again. THANK YOU

I have had my SolarTronics gate opener on my farm for 7 years now. It has been entirely reliable. I am still on the original battery. A concrete truck ripped my gate off, but the opener is undamaged. It is a tough little unit!

From Shane in Upper Beaconsfield. My older gate model had a problem where someone jammed it and Solartronics were very helpful in guiding me to a fix. The lady on the phone (sorry didn't catch her name) knew a lot about her product, suggested I had a small fuse problem, sent me some spares out in the post without charge, and it fixed the problem!! FANTASTIC service, bullet proof product, no hesitation in recommending them and their gate opening products.

We've had our gate for 8 years.My partner and I installed it after having lived in inner suburbs for most of our lives... It was actually pretty easy.. We'd do a better job these days, but it has lasted. (It's a dual gate configuration so we had to cut bitumen too ) ..On the rare occasions there have been small problems (and a unit outside in the hills, with sun, rain and near leafy plants - we've probably only had 3 issues)----- but the staff at Solar Tronics came through every time with help over the phone.We even had a slug fry the mainboard (our fault not closing the box tightly) - and they got us a refurbished board to save us a bit of money.They've even guided me through how to use my multimeter to isolate an issue (which turned out to be a battery replacement needed) . More concerned about saving me a call out fee than making a few extra bucks.

My gate is still going strong after 5 years on the same battery. Great team

Trouble from day one and after learning to live with the intermittent problems it has been replaced with one half the cost and works perfectly.Solartronics had nobody in my area in Gippsland to fix the problems. They expected me to attend to the problems myself with them instructing over the 'phone. I am aged 77 and use a wheelchair.
