Best French baguettes of all Baker's Delights in Melbourne. The service is great, especially from the staff who work on weekday mornings, they make an effort to get to know the regulars like me and my boys and they always pick the biggest cheesymite scroll for my sons to share without me even needing to ask. The only thing to be wary of is that the toast slice is really thick here, so I always choose sandwich slice, which is about a third thicker than sandwich slice everywhere else.

Although I try to stop and eat lunch, sit down and enjoy, I'm just as often eating on the run. Came here to collect a few items for the week and picked up a fabulously fresh roll ($1.50) that filled the hungry hole that was in my belly. Also grabbed a sweet custard and almond scroll ($3.50) to give to my colleague who was desperate for something more than bread.Find these chain bakeries are pretty good with items being freshly made and staff are helpful.Notes: Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Good parking out the front. Not far from railway station.

Apparently, not all Bakers Delight stores make the chocolate mud scone. This one does. Since this is one of the dozen or so things our picky eater actually eats, we regularly come here for said mud scone, which he's getting better at asking for, and which the staff always do a friendly job of engaging with.About the only downside, which is so negligible it doesn't warrant a star removal, is the toast-thickness slice (on their automated slicer) is extremely thick. Like .... you could almost use a slice as a doorstopper.
