Engender Equality

Since writing my first book about my lived experience as a victim of family violence, I have connected with Engender Equality; a service providing free counselling and support for women affected by domestic abuse. That connection gave me the opportunity to engage with Engender through advocacy training to advocate for victims, and the pleasure of meeting and volunteering with CEO Alina Thomas. Alina is a powerhouse and tireless supporter of victims and campaigner for greater awareness of domestic violence. She is an advocate for beneficial change in our society regarding reducing victim stigmatising and law reform that benefits abuse victims. Without this Tasmanian service victims would be without a unique lifeline of support and information.

A wonderful service providing the people of Tasmania with support who are and have been affected by family violence. Through my involvement as an Advocate for Change, Engender Equality has provided me with valuable training and opportunities to enable me to share my experience with others.
