Blue Octopus Take Away
I would like to commend the people who work there as decent human beings - I don’t know another place who will give you a double serve of blue grenedere fish if the size of the fish is small - that’s what they do - if it doesn’t measure up they give you two pieces of fish - so much lemon and huge serve of chips - I thought I had somebody’s order - rang them to offer additional payment but was told - no - if we think the fish is undersize we give you two. I was blown away. I thought the fish was normal size - very pleasant surprise.

Food was ok, but my Flake wasn't any good. It's a really thick fillet which is y my flake was mostly raw.

The blue grenadier was delicious. Chips were good, chicken salt was a bit too much, but the flavour was nice. Calamari and fish both tasted very fresh. Service was very friendly, and the sunny view was pleasant.

Blue Octopus Take Away
Brilliant fish and chips meal for our last night this coast trip. The pictures do not do justice - I was fighting the family to get these shots in before they grabbed the food. There were twice as many chip on arrival to the table - 1/2 gone in seconds!!!!Potato scallops and fish cocktails were a work of art in terms of lacy batter!!

Pretty disappointing. Had Flat Head and chips. Chips were soggy and tasteless. Fish wasn’t fresh, had old taste about it and was dry, and this from a coastal town. At $20 a serve I expected much better. Won’t be back.

Really disappointing to see how this shop has gone downhill recently. I ordered a medium chips with regular salt. What I got was about half the usual quantity and at a much higher price. And chicken salt. I had been warned or to go there by a few people’s as the Blue Octopus had lost its mojo. Can’t agree more. I won’t be back.

Long wait during school holidays - but they tell you when to come back. Food is a mixed bag, we had a fisherman's basket and whiting.Chips - below averageFish cocktails and whiting - top notchPrawn cutlets - averageSeafood stick - very badStick to the fish cocktails and fish.

Fish nice n tasty, chips good, potato scallops far too thin - all batter and little potato, definitely overpriced for a potato scollop.

Perfect fish and chips. Staff are lovely. Best location to enjoy at Dalmeny Beach. Loved the kind touch of water bowls for the pooches available outside the shop

No sitting just take away but ample sitting places available next to play park or sit on the beach. Fish is nice, chips crisp. A bit of oregano and rosemary would have been better on chips.
