We have had other providers come in and care for us but were often let down with so many carers coming and going, some with very little experience, and never hearing from management? A friend recommended calling Angels in Aprons, I can't believe how trully valued and cared for we feel, we now have piece of mind and can relax. I am telling everyone I can about this amazing organisation! Jan

I have been working as a Care Angel with Angels in Aprons since November 2020. I have been so blessed as they inherited me from another provider. They have been nothing but supportive and caring towards me. They have gone above and beyond to ensure that I have always had shifts. Due to ongoing health I’ve been unable to worker with our amazing clients and they have kept me on and taken me into their office to ensure I remain employed. So grateful to be working with such an amazing company that treat you like family.

My family and I were extremely dissatisfied with the management of Angels in Aprons and found the day to day running of the company to be appalling. There is an extreme lack of communication, excessive staff turnover, and poorly handled complaints. My father has Early Onset Alzheimer's and has a significant functional impairment as a result, meaning that he needs significant help with all aspects of everyday living. On several occasions I received emails or phone calls from Angels in Aprons telling me that no one was available to attend to my father and that shifts would go unfilled. The most alarming instance of mismanagement came recently when my father fell very ill. He undertook a PCR test and the Angel on duty at the time rang Angels Head Office to inform them that my father had a PCR test and was awaiting results. The Angel on duty was told to go home and leave my father to fend for himself, until his results were received. He had already had several negative at home tests. Luckily the Angel on duty had my number and asked me what I would like to do.I was able to arrange care for my farther until his test results came through. At no time was I contacted by Angels in Aprons Head Office to inform me that my father was going to be left alone. As this occurred on a Friday, I ensured that my father had support for the weekend and rang Angels in Aprons Head Office on Monday morning, at which time I was told by their CEO, that this was in fact the procedure that was in place and that if a client fell ill with a contagious illness there was no care offered. Our external Support Coordinator informed me that she had never worked with such a poorly managed company. I have had several phone calls with the Angel’s team over the years informing them of their mishandling of my father’s care and I was always promised that they would improve. This never occurred.Several shifts were left unfilled due to a lack of staff availability. Medications were then missed and no care, showering or meals provided. This is a company that puts profits before the care of their clients and I find it concerning that that they have resorted to staff providing 5 star reviews and that there is a lack of positive reviews from clients or their families. If you want an organisation that is well run with a leader that will truly care about your family members I would look elsewhere.*****In response to the Owners message below. I arranged for continuity of care for my Dad. Your staff liaised directly with me and NOT you or your office. I was the one who organised care when it was thought that my Dad might have had COVID NOT your or your office. You were completely uncontactable. We only stayed with your service for so long because you had two Angels which my Dad got along well with and who we thought were Dad’s friends. It turns out we completely misjudged one and my Dad was just another client to her, that she did not care about. I would also like to clarify the we NEVER asked for free care. Please do not make things up to make my family look bad.I again reiterate DO NOT USE THIS PROVIDER!!!!!

I’ve now reached out to this company on two occasions since they claim to offer “Family care support services for when you need an extra hand, or unexpected needs arise”— once when I was pregnant with my second child and dealing with debilitating pain, and more recently following breaking my foot and needing support for caring for my 3-month-old infant, a toddler, and our household. The first time the reply came so long past when I sent the online enquiry (many weeks) that it was useless; the second time, I’ve received no reply to my enquiry despite it being an urgent need—so, I rang to follow up. I was told my case was “with their finance department for a quote” and the person assured me they’d send over more info the next day. The next day has come and gone and still…crickets. If you can’t actually provide the kind of support you’re offering, perhaps don’t offer it? It’s frustrating to waste time with a non-responsive company when I could be looking elsewhere. It’s been nearly a week since I reached out this time and it’s clear this company either isn’t interested in providing family services or is too disorganized to make it happen in the time frame that is needed when there is an “unexpected need”. So unprofessional.

Highly recommend Angels in Aprons. Sharon and her team are all lovely, gentle, kind and caring. They have had the care and patience to help us navigate through the very complex and confusing Government My Aged Care system. We really loved their flexibility in tailoring care options to suit our needs. We also found the Angels to be the best value for money when we compared their level of care and services with a few other providers around Brisbane. At a very stressful time in our lives, Sharon and her team have not only helped ease our stress, but most importantly, helped to provide better quality of life for our mother. Thank you Sharon and your Angels :)

Angels in Aprons are an amazing group of good people. I highly recommend them especially to anyone who is doing their Certificate III in Individual Support Worker. They gave me the opportunity to work with our aged and disabled communities in helping these people with their daily needs. Angels in Aprons are true Angels

We changed to Angels in Aprons mid July 2022 after several years with another provider. The difference between the communication, certainty in knowing when and who is visiting is like night and day. The staff are lovely and motivated to see what needs to be done and to do it. Highly recommend.

I am extremely disappointed with these people who are claiming to.look after best interests of their elderly customers...My father was getting looked after last year by this service provider...there was no commitment from their emoyees and failure to flow up or retur phone calls due to covid apparently or simultaneously no one knew who to put you through to.Some cleaners sent did not know what skirting boards were to dust..nor how to remove cobwebs from ceiling corners or wipe around stove and fridge floor gapsNot to mention staff turned up with no mask on 2 consectative weeks on a Thursday which was complained about it the following Monday and she was off following Thursday week diagnosis covid. Too risky for my 80 yr old dad.however these service providers still removed money for continuing weeks after then days sbd times were erratic so I found another provider to whom I sent an email to and angels n aprons acknowledging the change to new service provider...I was suppose to have 2more weeks with this company before change but dad was dropped like a hot potatoe and no one was sent after many promises that various people were coming. Very troubling news as dad through no fault of his own had been dropped of all services after I had phone call to ceo Sharon douglas . She had promised to get back to me instead dropped all services which I would think not very professional...thsnk God sunnycare is there to support us and help dad.very promptly...
