I have been attracted to the squid festival by the name and expected there were plenty of squid dishes…But! Not much of food stalls.Very informative session and beautiful performance.

I was overpriced probably because I'm a tourist so they try to get more as possible. I had three bags and a bike, I discovered that I payed for 4 bags for a total of 85 dollars. Also one of my bag was 8 kilos and 7 kilos is free, the lady at ticket station didn't let me remove some water bottles or clothes to reach 7 kilos. And the problem wasn't only that, I was very calm all the time, but the lady was so rude, even with an old local man who take my part, she said ''it's not your problem''. And when she ends her show, she ask me ''if I wanna the ticket or I prefer to stay on the land''. Of course I wanna the ticket, I'm just trying to explain with cordially why I'm getting overpriced, but looks like it's useless. People like that ruin the experience of the travelers.

A phone number would be helpful as was coastal sailing and wanted some tourist info, including buses info to and from Hobart.

Good place this.My review however is more about the dock and the carpark. The google image is from 2010. The carpark is now bitumen and there are new toilets in the middle. The dock area now has a small covered seating area, two big tables seating 8 each. There's free wifi for those that want it.Adjacent to these seats there was a van (Wheel Good Mobile Coffee) selling excellent coffee and cakes, snacks etc. On a pleasant day this is a lovely spot and if you're into supporting the small operator you'll get a reward. On the other side you can get fresh f&cs etc from a small shack shop. I didn't try it but it was also well patronised.

Very friendly and helpful, the lovely lady more than happy to organize our tickets on the ferry to Maria Island. The free camp across the road was nearly full but we did manage to get a spot. Coin showers at information Center but close at 5pm from memory.

$4 for a 3 minute shower is a little steep, but it was hot and semi clean. The male toilets not so much; no wear to hang your clothes and the floor was dirty.

I had a great experience at the Triabunna Visitor Information Centre / Maria Island Gateway! The staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, especially when it came to providing information about visiting Maria Island. If you're planning to go there, you'll definitely want to stop by this centre to get your ferry ticket and book your accommodation, including camping. The centre itself is well-organized and has lots of resources available to help you plan your trip. I would highly recommend visiting there if you're heading to Maria Island.
