My solar panel frost valve has burst and water flows even at temperatures more than 10’. So, I called Metropoliton to get it checked and replace it.First thing first. I was asked to pay a callout fee of $141.90 before even someone visit my house and look at the problem. Though I already know the problem and needs just to be fixed. I was really surprised when I was asked my card details to pay upfront. But out of frustration with water wasting from roof, I didn’t hesitate much and paid.Second, the person came within agreed window and I told him the issue and location too. He took just 1 min to climb on the fence to look at the valve and confirmed that is it, which I already know.Third, I already checked online for the frost valve cost which is ranging from $90-140, the best brands including. The junior who came with various options to fix it, gave me options to remove solar water heater and use only gas heater costing me $4850. I was like OMG! All I needed was to replace frost valve. The last option he gave was to replace the valve and he quoted a whooping $790 for that work. I was shocked. And this is in addition to the callout fee that I paid upfront. And poor him, its not in his decision, its his company’s, the Metropolitan plumbing.I was really under the impression that I will be paying another $100 for the valve and he would replace the valve within $141.90 that I paid upfront since it’s fairly simple to identify. So I asked him to forget about it and started looking for plumbers who asks only for the work they do and even the Chromogen (hot water system unit brand) asks only $300 for this job. These people looted my $141.90 without even spending 5 mins of their time. This is the first time I felt I was cheated by such a big brand. And this is first ever review on a company on productreview.We go for big names to avoid looting. With such a big brand name, the least I expected out of them was this. But I was wronged here. This is real cheating and ripping off by this company.Please stay away from these people and save your hard earned money.

These businesses are only as good as the tradie that attends. We were in luck recently when plumber Colby came out to save the day. Did a great job. Very professional.Cheers Andrew VIC

Charged me $1500 to change a tap! Got another quote to do it all, including tapware for under $400. Metropolitan are the biggest crooks. Stay away from them!

The company gave me a Gold Option quote for $1729 !!!I got another plumber to do the job at 6:30 pm and I was only charged $450It is not the person that came it is the actual company that charges alotI feel sorry for people that have emergencies and they just accept such extremely high quotes without knowing that job can be done alot cheaper !!

Matthew did a phenomenal job replacing our pressure valve and explaining to us why we were experiencing our issues. Would definitely recommend Matthew for his expertise and customer service!

Brent from Metropolitan Plumbing Point Cook was fantastic! He explained the issue I was experiencing with my Solar Hot Water service clearly, and provided different options to have this fixed. When he didn't have the part he needed to repair the service, we went out to get it and was quickly back to make the necessary repairs.He was friendly and I would highly recommend this service.
