BARK Kennels & Cattery

First time turned out to be a fantastic choice - we were sweltering at our campsite, while Tui spent her time in and out of aircon and the pool!

We’ve been using Bark for daycare and boarding for over a year. Our Giant Breed dog loves going there. The staff are friendly and we have always been happy with the care he gets. The outdoor space is fantastic.

My dog loves it here, he is always happy with his time here, gets a lot of exercise and sometimes doesn't want to come home!Staff are really helpful and friendly!

As always, fantastic!Had the dog in the kennel for just over a month, he came back chubbier and clean. Had him in a different kennel previously where he lost a bit of weight.I don't think he wanted to come home... Couldn't wait to get back today for more daycare!Never an issue with Bark - lots of pictures of the dogs which is nice when you're away for a while.The girls there are awesome and super caring, highly recommend the team.

Ruby loves her days at Bark. She always arrives eager to start the day and leaves exhausted and happy. She's built a wonderful friendship with one of the carers dogs Nike and its always a highlight to see them in every photo together at the end of the day. She's always extremely excited to see Petra (She's not even that excited to see me). Bark provides a good service that not only we're happy with but our dog is extremely happy with as well

My partner booked and arranged for our puppies to stay here assuming that most feedback's were correct. Unfortunately our experience was really on the serious/dangerous end of bad. There was several issues, but the most serious was one of our puppies was several weeks post surgery and had seen Selwyn vets 2 days prior. The vet was emphatic strict rest and no boisterous activity at all. We checked into the kennels and clearly explained this to the general manager and receptionist. They questioned / clarified and we again emphasised no combined play with other dogs. They had a part on their admission form for Social or Non Social. The general manager corrected the receptionist to change the form from social to non social (which we saw was changed) and assured us that our puppies wouldn't get to play with other dogs and she checked our puppies healing wound herself. We left feeling reassured that they wouldn't be playing rough with other dogs. We returned to collect our 2 puppies and were told awkwardly that they were playing with a small social group . The staff member that told us was clearly awkward - in a caught out way. We were really shocked as the vet was clear that left calm things would improve, but rough play could have caused a rupture and necessitated further surgery etc. We still cant believe that the care at this kennel was sooooo poor, apart from the fact that like all owners we care for our puppies, the neglect by Bark Kennels and failure to follow such an important point of care re the puppies health could have resulted in them being liable for additional surgery. This was not a trivial failure and we would never return and would suggest that owners that expect good care choose their kennels wisely.

Kiah came home happy and tired which means I got a good sleep, not a bad pri e for the car. Thanks team at Barks

We've been taking our dog, Zuko, to Bark for a couple of years now. He loves going there and the staff are absolutely amazing. Never had any issues and would 100% recommend anyone trusting their pets with Bark. Thank you for taking such good care of our dog!

Staff are friendly, facility is amazing. Totally blew my dogs mind. I was so nervous to leave my anxious dog there but they really knocked it out of the park. Wouldn't dream of taking my dog anywhere else now. Overnight stay left my dog in a really happy place so we are eagerly excited to give daycare a go. If you are considering a kennel for your fur baby, definitely go with this one. Absolutely worth the small drive out of town to put our babies where we know they'll be pampered and cared for so well.Something else I noticed while we were there... I met the girl whose job it had been over Xmas to look after any dogs with issues. She had a friendly, but calm and strong personality and I could totally see how she'd be brilliant with those sorts of dogs. They've got the right people working there. My dog didn't have any issues there, but I definitely felt reassured she'd be in good hands if she had.They sort social time into appropriate groups, so its not just a free for all.Thank you again for showing my dog such a good time. She's exhausted and happy... exactly how any of us should be after an awesome getaway.

Five star service from our greeting at the door to picking Fergus up 3 days later. A highlight was seeing the photos of him playing with other dogs during his stay.Highly recommend BARK and Fergus is very keen for his next stay. Thank you all for looking after him so well.
