Gum Flat Reserve
Great place next to the river. Bit overgrown at the moment but still good. Not usually busy at all. Basic toilet and picnic tables with roof.

Gum Flat Reserve
A good little reserve I spent a night at last week. It is currently impacted by the floods and the crossing over a small stream has now been washed away. I’ve included some photos. My 4wd did get stuck upon leaving but I dropped tyre pressure and put down some maxtrax to prevent damage to the environment. Sure I could’ve tried to use more right foot but we need to look after these places so they remain open.I visited at the start of November 2022 for reference.

Mostly flat grassy area it is surrounded by Farm paddocks by land and the main feature the Gwydir river which is about 3.3 km that Curves like an ?"The river banks can have a drop of about 3M to a nice Sandy Beach area.Toilet block bit of a walk from the beach area

This is another great area plenty of camping sites, gravel road entry, toilet, undercover picnic tables, bins and big towering gum trees. Plenty of bird life, cows grazing, river views. TV free to air reception watched the State of origin great. Mobile reception good, river levels low but can still kayak on it.

Feels like you are in the true Aussie outback. Massive open area, great for caravans. One toilet, few sheltered picnic tables. Huge, majestic gum trees. River is flowing at the moment. Another awesome free stop.

Very spacious camping grounds. Great swimming spot. Clean and tidy compost toilet. There is a couple of picnic tables also. Definitely going back in winter to do some fishing.
