The regional gallery is located upstairs above the library on the Main Street of Tamworth. Free to enter the gallery is new and has some nice exhibits in the small gallery. The open space is relaxing and the art work is surprisingly good for a regional gallery. Would recommend visiting while in Tamworth.

This modern gallery is located in Peel Street, just outside of the main shopping precinct. It occupies the same building as the Library but the Gallery is located upstairs. There is a lift.when the visiting exhibition was Reality in Flames" Australian Art in the second World War on loan from the Australian War Memorial. There were

This is a great regional gallery which usually has three different exhibitions running to maximise the chance that something will appeal. On my most recent visit—yesterday—there was a dark and thought provoking exhibition about Indigenous massacres by Australian colonisers centred around the Myall Creek massacre (one of the few times justice was served and the white perpetrators were hung). There was also “Abundant Wonder” an exhibition by Melbourne artist, Tom Moore. It’s a fantastical and fun glass exhibition that I enjoyed viewing. Staff make you feel welcome by taking the time to explain the exhibitions and chat without being intrusive.

The lady here was super helpful with information about events in town while we were there. The exhibition we saw was fabulous. Definitely worth a visit

Had some interesting exhibitions but not a large variety. The sculptures were thought provoking. Liz Priestley's exhibition was a high standard of art.

I went to go and see the local artistic fundraiser for the Gallery, by local Artists and was very impressed by the standard of work. And then was informed about the 100 years exhibition at the same time, that was incredible, the wood and leather etchings (think carving a picture, dipping in ink and pressing). That was truly inspiring, the work and the detail blew me away...... Then I rounded the corner and was mesmerised by a collection of Norman Lindsay's work... The skill and exactness of reproduction by eye and hand.... I stared hard for a good 15 mins and left feeling I had rushed it... What an amazing exhibition. Go check it.
