Very well presented local museum, well worth the time and modestly priced entries, a great walk through Charters Towers development and growth. Congratulations to all concerned in the operation.

Absolutely amazing local museum. Be aware its opening times are limited from 9am until 1 pm. And you will need all that time to see everything. Check out the early chinese gambling machines.

Fantastic and amazing! There is so much history in one place that it was almost too hard to take it all in. Could not recommend spending an hour here enough. Just sooooo much to read and see.

Fantastic old museum with a lot of history in there. Spent over an hour inside looking at everything and didn't even see it all properly.

Lots of local historical objects plus many other antiquities and curios. So many different things to admire and enjoy. You could quite easily get lost in this treasure trove for hours.I spent an hour there and it wasn't nearly enough time to absorb all of the history and wonder in one building. The caretakers of the museum were wonderful to talk with and were very open when presented with up to date information on the pieces they had on display. For a small town museum it is truly spectacular. I will have to return in the near future to spend more time perusing. The admission fees are more than worth it and very reasonable indeed! Concession and pensioner discounts available.
