Whitsundays Great Walk
Awesome walk through the rainforest. The main track is a well maintained gravel road. Would have loved to do the whole track.

Unlike most of these types of places around Brisbane, these tracks actually encourage mountain biking, which is fantastic to see. Will definitely be back with the wheeled toys. Multiple grades available and tens of kilometres of track with varied terrain and scenery.

Whitsundays Great Walk
Walked the entire 27km on 21/11/20. The walk seems to have been trimmed since others have done it so wasn't overgrown, but baiting in the area has left wild pig carcasses along the walk. There is ample parking at the beginning, but the The Airlie Beach seems to end in a street so lacks any dedicated parking spots. There are only a couple coastal glimpses on the walk, otherwise it is just through pleasant, but not very exciting forest.Regarding its name change, it's neither a 'circuit' nor 'great'.Spiciness 3/10 - the abundance of goannas and spotting of a wild boar's behind were the only saving grace of this snoozefestSignage 12/10 - regular and accurate markers were a rare and unexpected delight. Kudos to whoever had to carry 27 signs. No kudos for the walk concluding in someone's driveway, resulting in a 4km waddle and dirt road taxi ride to get back to the van.Overall: 4/10 - Bar one uphill stretch, not too challenging, but it offered no picturesque coastal views as a result. The smell of baited dead pig was also an unwelcome surprise.Should consider making a loop/ circuit option as we ended up having to get a taxi back to our car.

Great trail. The first 16km is nice and down hill. The next 9km is up and down with some great views of Shute Harbour and Jubilee Pocket. Honey Eater is also a great trail to do with a nice view of Cannonvale at the top.

Whitsundays Great Walk
Great place for some forest hiking/ mountain bike riding. There's several trails of varying distance. I did the Wompoo Way, bit steep in sections but nothing too difficult. Finishes at a scenic waterway.

Whitsundays Great Walk
Cool under the canopy. Good green leading to blue bike track about 5 km each. Black track is closed further in ... Paul tried the start but it's too slippery and steep to get traction.

Whitsundays Great Walk
Nothing 'great' about this track.Did the whole 27 km in 5.5 hrs. Pretty average scenery - a few decent spots at some creeks. Saw about 12 venomous red bellied black snakes and one brown snake - quite intimidating. Apart from the basic fire trail the rest of the track would be awful for mountain biking. Camp grounds looked boring and ugly. Would not want to camp here.Don't waste your time unless you are doing it for fitness and have no issues with venomous snakes.

Whitsundays Great Walk
Not suitable for mountain biking at all. Fallen trees everywhere. Venomous snakes everywhere. Parts of the trail are less than a foot wide with surrounding foliage up to a metre high. My opinion is that it would be quicker to walk the trail without a bike, but there are parts of the trail I was glad to have both feet off the ground. When you get to the sign that says consider turning back"
