A Delightful Experience at Irish Club: A Fusion of Irish Cuisine and HospitalityI recently had the pleasure of dining at the Irish Club, and I must say it was an absolute delight. Located in the heart of the city, this charming restaurant offers a unique fusion of Irish cuisine and warm hospitality. From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the cozy and inviting atmosphere that exuded an authentic Irish charm. The restaurant's interior is tastefully decorated, with traditional Irish elements combined with modern touches. The dim lighting and comfortable seating create a relaxed ambiance, perfect for an intimate dinner or a gathering with friends. The staff greeted me with genuine smiles and a friendly demeanor, making me feel instantly welcome. Now let's talk about the highlight of the Irish Club – the food. The menu boasts an extensive selection of Irish-inspired dishes, prepared with the freshest ingredients and a creative twist. As a fan of traditional Irish cuisine, I was thrilled to see classics like Irish stew, fish and chips, and shepherd's pie on the menu. Each dish I ordered was a masterpiece of flavors, beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. One standout dish that I highly recommend is their Guinness-infused beef stew. The tender chunks of beef, paired with hearty root vegetables, were braised to melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The rich and robust flavors of the stew were enhanced by the unmistakable taste of Guinness, creating a truly memorable culinary experience.Another dish that left a lasting impression was the seafood platter. It showcased a delightful assortment of fresh seafood, including succulent prawns, plump mussels, and perfectly seared scallops. The seafood was cooked with finesse, highlighting its natural flavors and accompanied by a tangy lemon-butter sauce that added a delightful zing. The Irish Club also boasts an impressive selection of beverages, including a wide array of Irish whiskies and a well-curated beer list. The knowledgeable staff was more than happy to recommend pairings to complement my meal, further enhancing the overall dining experience.Service at the Irish Club was exceptional. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were quick to offer suggestions and accommodate any dietary preferences or restrictions. Despite the restaurant's popularity, I never felt rushed, and the pacing of the courses was just right, allowing me to savor each dish at my own pace.Overall, my experience at the Irish Club was nothing short of outstanding. The combination of delicious food, warm hospitality, and authentic Irish ambiance makes it a true gem in the city's culinary scene. Whether you're looking for a cozy dinner for two or a place to celebrate with friends, the Irish Club is a must-visit. I can't wait to return and explore more of their tantalizing menu offerings.

I was on the fence after the first night. The food seemed decent from dinner, the service at dinner was disinterested but the cook seemed to care. The room was a bed and shower. What pushed me over the edge, was the lunch actually had a clump of dirt in it larger than a blackberry. Cut it open and there were roots and all. At dinner the second night, they got the order wrong and made me wait for 10 minutes to fix it. So the food wasn't as warm by the time I was actually able to eat it.It's probably hit or miss, hard to tell over just a few days.

The food is nothing to write home about, pretty average at best. The young bistro staff seem to lack common customer service skills and are obviously there to just kill time and take home a paycheck. The older bar staff are lovely and always go above and beyond, the young staff could learn a thing or two from them.We do love the huge kids facilities and the Lil’ Rish playgroup (parents stay and supervise) however the group seems extremely understaffed considering the young crèche kids (ages 2-4) who are there without parents are mostly unattended and just left to roam without any staff supervision while the only 2 staff rostered on tend to food, beverages and other jobs. A review is definitely needed of the procedures here.Overall I probably wouldn’t go here for another meal however the kids love the playground and it’s a great way to burn some energy for a few hours and for only $5 entry it’s fantastic however highly recommend parents staying for supervised play and not the crèche or child watching aspect.

Great Club to visit while in Mt Isa. Courtesy bus service from our caravan park. Buffet dinner $30 pp great value. The staff very welcoming and friendly especially the lady I think her name was Vinney in the Gaming room Bar made our stay memorable. I spent all of my working career in hospitality & Vinney is a natural. Thanks Irish Club

Food was nice. Easy to order & decent pub style meals. Table service was very mediocre. Meals were brought to the table & the waitress just stood there. We had to ask what meals she had (2 couples with separate orders) & then they were passed across the table. Are wait staff not taught how to serve meals anymore? Then when we'd finished the waitress returned & grunted at us. We worked out she was asking if we'd finished. I'd come back but won't expect trained wait staff.

The Lil'Rish kids playground is pretty great. We needed an Indoor play option so desperately. The staff are lovely as well. the food, however, is not the best for little kids. I love the wraps and having a coffee but simpler, healthier kid- friendly options such as hummus dip with pita bread or veggies, fruit smoothies, fruit salad, smashed avo or scrambled egg on toast. All my kid will eat when we go is chips and ice cream. Discourages me a bit from going because I know that's all they're eating since we can't bring our own kids food in.

Great pool tables. Food was good if you just like a good feed, nothing fancy. Beer was cold served in a clean glass. Decor is unique. We had a good time looking at the different coats of arms. Grumpy bar tender, we had to repeat ourselves four times when ordering a Bacardi and coke, I don’t think he knew what it was.

The food has been very ordinary, usually over cooked and bland.Rooms are good for a bed and shower only but could do with a freshen up.Most staff are friendly but need to smile.

I first entered the Mt Isa Irish Club in 1993. Although not a local, I have been there a few times since. Was in town for business this week 15 - 21 April and have eaten there twice, mostly for the big screens to watch the footy with a large group. The food is not too bad but the service in this place is absolutely awful. I wouldn't usually leave a bad review but to say the staff were absolutely disinterested in anything they were doing is an understatement. I don't think I have ever come across young bar staff who couldn't have cared less about their clientele or service... they were absolutely ordinary. Sad really because back in the 90's, north western hospitality was incredible. When you walk into a place and pick up the tab to the tune of $500, a smile and a thank you from the bar staff isn't too much to ask is it?
