What a wonderful experience to be had here. A sensory treat from every direction. Intriguing visuals from ceiling to every wall. Multidimensional with so many floor levels, adding to the excitement and intrigue. Fabulous music playing that kind of explains the visuals of old and new. Oh, and then the food.. I am in love with this place because both my husband and I can eat ridiculously well here - despite me having immature taste buds and my husband enjoying a broader range. Yep, this is my new fav place in Melbourne!! Well done State of Grace

Enjoyed this place so much, not much of a drinker but the couple of cocktails I tried were nice, my husband enjoyed his. The staff were lovely, and the secret passageways was really cool. :)

Such a playful bar and restaurant!Great decor and set up especially the secret door, “find the book” they say. Very interesting and innovative way to access the hidden lounge bar.Good food and good company makes a perfect match and state of grace caters for it!

What. A. VIBE. The most incredible venue! The atmosphere was amazing and we were greeted when we walked in by a really friendly man who directed us downstairs (Melbourne’s best hidden gem in my opinion) where we were met with even more friendly staff and the most delicious drinks. Valerie was particularly cheerful and was an incredible server and very kindly checked in on us when it appeared that a group of men were making us uncomfortable. We felt so safe and respected here. Will 100% be back! Thank you State of Grace team and thank you Valerie ❤️

Literally the most gorgeous view! Thursday evening with minimal customers, drinks and food were delicious and the vibe was just perfect, would absolutely recommend! (Book a table if you’re unsure about walk-in availability :)

I didn't drink in State of Grace, but used the secret entrance to go down to Fall from Grace. Loved using the hidden book door opener, very cool. The vibe in the bar is nice and relaxed.

Great bar, you can order through a QR code or at the bar and drinks turned up pretty quickly.Hidden bar is great fun.Calamari was a bit weak (tad limp)

Really great cocktails! I love Fall from Grace - the music wasn't too loud and actually felt like a speak easy. Made a booking and was looked after really well by the staff. ♥️highly reccomend!

Attended State of Grace’s new bottomless brunch, “Big Top Affair”- carnival themed event. Held on the rooftop, the presentation of the area was cute, and the food and drinks came very soon after the 3PM start - Bottomless vodka soda teapots (around 4 - 6 teacups per pot) with some very tasty syrups to mix in, and 6 entree sized good portions (1pp). Service and staff were great, and the magician was especially hilarious.

The entrance is really fun, you find a secret book and pull it and the door opens to enter the hidden bar. Very cosy vibes and dimly lit, perfect for a cold winter Melbourne night. We did the session called ‘Fall from Grace’ this allows you to go to the downstairs bar. Had a curated selection of Cocktails, which were reasonably priced. Food was a little bit overpriced, so we went with the chips and they were lovely with a slight vinegary kick. Bit of an older vibe as well and the staff were lovely, friendly and happy to meet any requests. Definitely check it out if you have a chance!
