Canty's is the best bookshop in Canberra. Well organised, lots of hardbacks (my addiction!), really friendly helpful staff. Now a prominent safe space!

A lot of books in a free order, so it might be quite a quest to find the ones you are looking for. There are some basic categories, but nothing is guaranteed and your, say, favourite detective author might be found in Wellbeing or Sci-Fi. Seriously entertaining mess. But you can ask a local lady and she will guide you (don't bother asking a dude though, he's not the sharpest tool in that shed, you'll just get irritated and waste your time).Can recommend the shop, just add more time and patience!

Wonderful bookshop with thousands of treasures. I was able to pick up and finish out missing books from my Agatha Christie and Ngaio Marsh collection. Also found lots of great sci-fi. Pricing was also very good. Spent about 90 minutes perusing the shelves with my 7 year old. Will be back next time we're in Canberra.

What a treasure trove of secondhand books! Knows his stuff well too, boasting over 1km worth of books, three rooms full - well stocked and great range! Grateful for this local recommendation!

This place is amazing. Books everywhere. Please make sure when you go you give yourself enough time to enjoy the whole store, so many books to look at. I always walk out with books in hand.

An absolute gem of a store. Jam packed with books of every, and I do mean *every* genre, from military history to cookery, via sheet music, craft books, and car service manuals. The owner is very knowledgeable about his stock though, so if you were after a specific title, he would most likely be able to advise. It would however be a difficult place to navigate for someone with mobility issues, as the aisles are narrow and it has interior steps.

Fantastic prices, fantastic never ending selection of books, amazing atmosphere!! You can spend hours just digging through the store it is amazing !!! 10/10 recommend
