Pelican's Nest Early Learning Centre
After 3 days at the facility my daughter had her finger badly injured and a scrape on her knee, absolutely no care from staff or awareness it had occurred. It had looked either stepped on or squashed in a door, their excuse was simply it’s probably just paint or she didn’t cry. She wouldn’t let us touch it and cried on trying to clean and inspect it, she also had a skinned knee. Which was not reported. She’s 2. When bringing it to the managements attention they refused to make an incident report and do more about it as it wasn’t witnessed and it could have happened anywhere despite it being the first thing both her father and myself noticed on pick up and quizzed the middle aged educator about. Sick to my stomach thinking about her hurting herself and no one hearing or being there to comfort her when they are supposed to be caring for and looking after my children. They have recently just lost the lead educator for babies room and the centre manager. Which is probably why her attitude was so poor as it was her last day.My baby was sent home for teething temperatures not symptomatic and excluded for 24hours despite other visibly sick children being allowed to attend the facility with my daughter. 2/4 of the paid days my daughter was unable to attend due to teeth not actually sick. Understandable sickness happens but the double standard of it’s okay for one child but not another clearly isn’t okay especially when that child is visibly sick. Also Witnessed a baby fall off a crawling platform in the babies room onto its head and mother wasn’t notified straight away as the baby was calmed and staff member told me she’s been doing that all day we just let the mum know at the end of the day. If your daughter has just started in the last 3-4 weeks in the baby room I hope you were notified.Enter your children into this Centre at your own risk. Staff aren’t attentive and negligent with care.

After a terrible experience with another kindy in the area, this place has exceeded all my expectations and is a real breath of fresh air. They treat your children as individuals and really take the time to learn each child’s individual needs. They really care and make amazing efforts for ensure your child’s needs are met and to make sure they are reaching their best potential. Amazing place and amazing staff

Our 4 year old daughter has been attending Pelican's Nest for the past year. She is so happy here and loves going to 'Kindy'. The two year Kindy program is a fantastically diverse experience ranging from structured literacy activities to rich free-play time. We have heard our daughter talking about such a wide range of topics and her vocabulary and understanding around these has been, quite frankly, mind blowing! I love that she is learning about sustainability, numbers, cooking, letters, animals, shapes, colours and so much more while having fun and making great friends. The staff at Pelican's Nest are so friendly and supportive and are always exploring ways to extend the learning and social experience for the kids. Thanks Pelican's Nest for your amazing work!
